It’s funny because the big guys are always the ones that help you out the most. When I started, some guy helped me with the grip on skullcrushers and was very nice. He was intimidating at first though.
Absolutely. I just started and a huge powerlifter jumped behind me when I was benching a measly weight compared to what he had on right next to me. He saw I was struggling and helped me get one more rep in where I may have dropped it on myself on even the one before that. Embarrassing, yea. But I learned a lesson and got great encouragement because he saw I was there to take it seriously and not just come in and pull a way too easy 50 rep set on a cable machine just to look at girls asses (there is literally a guy there that does this).
@@steveyuhas9278 that’s nice of that power lifter. A gentle giant. A genuine good person. A good gym bro. And yeah it’s good that you were serious about jim. Not just doing cable machine for 50 reps and not challenging yourself. And about that gym creep, that’s nasty.
And most of the times the people that are just a little big and can lift a little bit more than average always shout rudely. They're very arrogant, egotistical and rude.
I love the fact when I see new people come into the gym. They wanna start their journey and no matter how confused, lost and uncomfortable they may be feeling, they wanna take a step. It's a good feeling
@@daemon1926 hi thanks for checking. i know now how almost all machines work, my coach say I have good form Got busy lately, workout like 1 to 2x a week only, i have more muscles now, but not noticeable, well its my fault i guesz
My first day at the gym was 2 days ago (03.04.2023) and it was exciting. *I loved it.* P.S.: Since people keep asking about my progress, i wanted to say that i did improve, even though I'm not Dwayne Rock Johnson I'm still happy that I'm getting bigger. I'm not planning on giving up, so i hope you won't too. Love you all (no homo tho), thanks for all the kind words, keep lifting 🔥
I was doing bicep curls the most wrong way you can imagine (I didn't have a trainer) and that big gorilla over there walked up to me and started talking about how he got his back injured doing it this way, he also told me about the gym belt and how useful it is for a beginner like me. bro he literally spent most of his training time teaching me stuff! best day one ever. it's been 2 years and I still remember how intimidating but nice he looked. I wish we could meet again so I can show him my progress.
Those first few days can be a little intimidating, but after a while you realize everyone is doing their own thing and then it’s almost as if you’re there all by yourself
If you ever feel like you don't belong in a gym because you're new, you aren't sure what to do or how, or you're overweight, underweight, or out of shape, you should know that these are actually reasons why you BELONG at the gym. The gym is for you, it's for all of us! Everyone starts where you are, and it's a necessary first step on your road to success. Believe me, all you need to fit in at the gym are goals, and the courage and commitment to see them through. You can do it.
Saw a new guy walk in when I was doing flys who had no idea what he was doing or what he was going to do next. After my sets I walk up to him and ask what he’s hitting? He paused probably because he didn’t understand my lingo and said “we’ll just the basics, bench press, squats, leg kicks (leg extensions) dumbbell curls and preacher curls” I had to explain to him he would feel extremely tired the next morning so I recommended him to hit parts of the body on separate days like back and bi, chest and tri, legs and shoulders etc. I joined him and got him doing warm up to light weight training for chest and he was already sweating and out of breathe which I found motivating since that’s how we all started out. The next day he walks in again and instantly starts looking around trying to find me. Right away he asks if he could join in on what I was doing, which that day was leg day, and man did I give him hell for being a new member 😂. Been working out with this guy for 1 and a half years now and his Noobie gains looked way better compared to mine when I first started out. If you’re new don’t be shy to ask for help, I can guarantee the people there are down to help you figure out a routine or even let you join in on their workouts.
First day at the gym almost 2 months ago. Best personal health decision I have ever made. Also made me appreciate other people's hard work put into the gym
@@LorenzoBertottiI don’t think he should hit the gym yet because it’ll stunt his growth. I didn’t start working out til I was 17 because that’s near the end of my growth cycle (height) and my doctor said my height was already starting to grow slower. But before I start lifting weights, I’d just do push ups a lot and that shit helped a lot to keep me in form
@@user-ey4cv2ju6v Lifting does not stunt growth, your doctor really needs quit his job if he is handing out information like that. You will only stunt growth by injuring yourself from shitty form
@@user-ey4cv2ju6v I have to go to the gym because I do swimming and it’s necessary for me to hit the gym at least 3 times a week if I want to grow muscles to be able to swim. (And btw it’s a she not a he)
One thing I loved about my gym is no one bothers you. It’s nice to have no one judging or looking at you. Though, sometimes I wish people will come help me with my form if I do it wrong 😅 I’m too scared to go up to big guys and ask them for help
@@gerry1031 great. I'm 15 and have been training since I was 10. The gym is practically my second home. It's sutch a fun and inclusive place. I love training my friends and helping them get bigger. It's great to see people improve.
One of the first times I went to the gym I went to the beach with everyone there being jacked or huge af I was skinny asl and I remember after doing a set with it this 6ft8 guy just gave me a thumbs up idk why but made my shitty day feel a little bit better tbh hope bros doing good in life rn
My first day was almost 2 months ago. That time, I could only do slow walks on the tredmill. Then three days ago, I tried speeding things up and found out that I can already run without feeling like dying. Felt so soooo happy. I am so proud of all gym beginners. ❤
today was my first day in the gym, i will not give up, i will stay consistent, and i’ll prove everyone wrong after calling me fat for 6 years of my life
@@gscards376 it’s been really good, i’m being as consistent as possible while even going to the gym, i’m playing basketball and american football as a center
How are you gonna prove them wrong? It's a fact that you were fat (atleast as far as I know). The first step into becoming great is accepting what you were
yeah... when i started a big guy literally, helped me with a list of exercises that would be great if i do. 1 year and i'm still going at the gym every day. Sometimes i meet him in the gym so we always greet.
I've become overweight due to covid and depression. I'm also shy and introverted but I finally gained the confidence to visit my local gym and sign for a year commitment. I want to look and feel better for myself. I'm starting on Friday, but what I'm most afraid of is how to learn and use the equipment at the gym. I'm probably gonna look dumb to other experienced guys 😢
Ay man we all went through it, took my months to start learning how to use machines and cables and dumbbells to effectively hit the muscles. Do a bunch of research and don’t go unnecessarily heavy at first, YOU GOT THIS !!!
I started gym from last fryday I want to tell you People are really supportive there They will surely help you just don't disturb them when they are doing stuff You will surely learn new equipments they are easy and don't be worry people there have been a newbie onece they will understand you and teach you And remember a big guys in the gym are always the most humble one
The anxiety gets the best of me, my thoughts tell me youl look silly and make yourself look awkward in the gym 😞 turning 23 next month feel like a loser
First month at gym, some pro actually helped me to correct the form. Its just a nice things we can have to start workout for a better health and body. Pls don't feel like a loser when a pro notice u, take them as a goal for u to keep lifting 😊
Bro it's been 3 months since I've joined the gym and the bigger the dude is the nicer they are I always had this perception that gym freaks are rude and bully-ish but when I got to know them they were all just like me. Gym is my therapy
Well, that's because that's who they are as people, not because they're big. Many of them are rude, just like many small guys are kind, with every physical type of person there's every kind of personality.
Last year was my first year and was really hard to commit.. especially with kids and me @38 yrs old, full time job always working overtime, daddy home duties and a needy wife. But wtf is my excuse. Take my lady with me. Hit the gym hard with RU-vid on hand. RU-vids been so much help. Keep the content flowing!
I remember the first time i went to the gym by myself at like 3 am without my gym buddy and this dude and his girlfriend came over to me while i was doing lat pull downs and they fist bumped me. They are now forever a motivation factor for me every time im in the gym. If you see someone new, give them a fist bump, or at least a word of encouragement, like "keep it going."
Hope there’s someone like you at the gym in the morning. I’ve decided to take a step into the gym for the first since having my daughter a year ago. I’m having major anxiety. I’m so so nervous and scared to be judged. But I’m just so tired feeling ugly in my own skin. Man thank you for this. 🥹🙏🏽
This is just wow thank you these realy help me to get by day by day and I promise the day I find my dream girl I will tell you and everyone here in this comment section cuz I also learn from these what someone deserves to be loved and its all thanks to you😂 Thanks Izumi your amazing ✨️👌💕
Just started my journey about a month ago now. Already starting to see results! There's something really great about seeing the rewards of your hard work. Motivates me to keep going. I'm really glad I started. And I only wish I would've started sooner.
first day of the gym was 2 days ago August 7th, I loved it so much I usually have anxiety when it comes to working out but I don't have it that much anymore because I realized everyone is working on themselves/doing their own thing :) can't wait to improve overtime
Gym is a wonderful place. I regret not joining soon coz of my insecurities. But soon I realised it’s one of the few places, if not the only place, where total strangers feel genuinely proud of your achievements.
Me walking into a gym as newbie and standing in the middle or machines and weights: "i have no idea what i'm doing or going to do with the things around me!"
Man this would be me in a few years, back to do my set next thing I know I look at the new guy. And instantly I would be reminder of how I started out. For better or worse I'm going to remember my awkward self the first time I enter a Gym.
yesterday was my first day in the gym. I was both excited and anxious...time went by really fast and i absolutely loved it! i did legs and abs and even now my legs are on fire, i can feel every muscle!! can't wait to go tomorrow again! to begginners out here: NO ONE is looking at you only thing to worry about is your form! don't be afraid to ask for help. People there are mostly nice. Good luck ❤
@@moneymakinmitch8130 yes it went well. I been going for a while now. Haven’t had time to go cuz I recently got a job as an apprentice electrician. So I been working hard but I’m trying to balance it.
I come to hometown gym after like 6 months of being in another state and its so good to see the old members just being better and also a couple of new faces around.
One time last summer I was lifting, and after I finished I watched a little kid (13-15) walk in with his dad for the first time, idk why but it just warmed my heart
Today was my first day going the gym (I’m 14) and I’m excited for tomorrow 🔥 Im gonna update this every week Edit 1: Finished First week and typing this on Day 8 (Monday) Edit 2: I almost lost track of how long ago it has been and its like going to the gym is something I have been doing for a long time lol, it doesn’t matter if I’m tired or whatever I just go every time now. Day 32 (Friday)
Keep going bro. When you’re starting out, don’t do too much. Just try out the movements with light weight and work on form. Just be consistent, and you’ll learn more advanced things over time. 👍🏻
18y/o. Been going to the gym for 2 months now. I went because I’m currently in my “f it” mindset so I just went; a homie I’ve know since 7th grade has been training me since he has 4 years at the gym and honestly everyone does their thing. I love going to the gym now and have seen some progress.
I have mad respect for especially those who don’t look fit yet, they did well dragging their ass to the gym🎉 Don’t know why people having to be d*ckhead and bodyshame someone who’s still fat or skinny… extreme idiocy
Finally i understand it after going to gym😂😂 agr apko lgta hai ki gym jaane se body bnana easily bn jaayega to ye yaad rakhna ki pehli din mai he pata chal jaayega ki aage kya hone wala hai
Im almost 5 months deep regularly (4-5times a week) and not stopping yet. Love seeing the recognition for myself grow in others the more often Im coming in.
im joining from tomorrow and im so fuckin scared n anxious rn. i cant stop thinkin about it, i feel like everyone will judge me cuz im fat and dk how to use any equipments but at the same point im so excited for this new journey
I started two days ago, couldn't go yesterday or today due to overtime in night shifts. Will go in the morning tho. I feel nervous being with other people but I'll get over it. They are nice, helpful when needed and mind their own business. Ultra W
As a female, i started going to the gym as well. Cause i felt like my muscles were melting (LOL don't know how to explain) and i think it was one of the best decision i ever made
Always remember that there was a day Muhammad Ali wore boxing gloves for the first time and a day where Ronaldo kicked a football for the first time. Never be afraid to start.
I used to be so nervous to go to the gym but now i love going. I've been going to planet fitness for nearly a year. Once June 14th rolls around it'll have been a year. I'm so confident in the weights section now. The only problem i have now is getting my diet in check which I'm slowly getting better at.
Mid 30s here going back to the gym for the 1st time. Super intimidated but also determined to get in shape. Not even doing it for looks. I just want to be healthy
just started 2 days ago. first day i got nervous and just did cardio for an hour. today i actually hit the bench and even though there were people around i had my headphones in and just focused on my workout. seeing this video and reading some of the comments definitely made me feel better about coming back to the gym after 3 years. thank you guys.
@@crlitohbro it be like that sometimes but everybody is there for the same reason and we all start somewhere! glad to have you on this fitness journey bro bro let’s get it
That could have been me two years ago but then I wasn't apprehensive to seek for advice and the seniors were so helpfull.I'm 52 now am still a regular here.
Love see people giving it a go I’ve been liftin for a total of 2 years ( I did 1 year in the home gym the stopped for about a year then started at a commercial gym and it’s been the best decision I ever made. I’ve fallen in love with lifting again and has helped me tremendously with my mental health. ( sorry for the rambling )
Had first day at the gym today and one of the big guys actually randomly came over to me today and gave me all kinds of tips on how to get gains optimally
Today was my first day in the gym since the pandemic hit and it felt amazing to break a sweat. Just did some cardio on the treadmill and did a few dumbbell excercises but I’m proud of myself for beginning the journey again.
I can relate to an extent i have around 2 years of experience. And in some point in life i inspired around 4-5 people in starting gym. Its the best feeling to see someone new to gym starting and even better if you were the reason they started.
