I thought right away after the trade that Emberson could be like Nurse's Ekholm if things go well. I think that partly because clearly there's nobody already on the roster that works with Nurse, might as well try the new guy, but also I like the sound of a super responsible shut-down guy with Nurse as much as everyone says he needs a puck mover or good skater.
I REALLY want to see an energy/youth 4th line with Perry/Ryan only in the system to add competition. I think having at least the option of a full line of young guys is a good thing because they match up real well against other young players, because the newer generation always thinks the game a bit different. When you think of the alternative of the slow yet veteran Ryan/Perry, I'd rather have guys who can move - and you're not necessarily forced to only use them 6 minutes a night if you can develop just a little bit of 2-way responsibility. There's a distinct possibility that a young line like that could mesh and find themselves being more of a third line threat and the shut-down janitor line could move into 4th. It's stuff I'd at least try at the beginning of the season.
