I thought I was set to buy the World Raid but your previous video got me thinking. Anyway, great video, I could feel your nerves, your anxiety and your joy. Take it easy and you have a bike for life with the Tenere. Looking forward to sharing your journey!
Very nice simple and straight way to explain things. I likes. Especially your last video in which you gave a brief experience about the bikes you have ridden before to buy tenere. I think that is the right way to make a decision.
I got the T7 in April. Still riding with a big smile on my fat face. Best bike I ever had. I am going to Corsica, Italy and Schwitzland in July, and I cant wait. Congrats with your bike, buddy.
I was riding my Tenere for 2 weeks in Norway back in 2022 and found it a perfect fit for Norwegian roads. So good choice and beautiful country you live by the way.
@@TalkTheRide No, I broke my collarbone just a few weeks before this trip and driving my bike to Norway was probably not the best thing to do 😀 Got a surgery later, and hope to return one day to actually ride the TET in Norway.
Great choice of bike . It will take you anywhere you want to go and more . Your enthusiasm is infectious , " Oh Galore ! " (I've learned a new expression ). Have fun . Travel far .
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏🎉 Those expressions came about because I was trying to avoid saying "oh my god" and "oh Lord" and it just morphed into some new language hehe 😁
Congrats on the new ride, T7 is a great choice, got me one too.. yes their are lots out there to choose from, but if you enjoy it, that's good enough. Take it and run with it 👍🏻 Your Norwegian accent cracks me up 😊 I mean that I'm a good way.. sounds like Your from Oslo via Nashville Tennessee .. Great Video, subscribed!
14:57 For a moment I thought you were going to test the Tenere on those rollers! Love how excited you are about the new bike, I'm looking forward to more videos and you sharing this journey with us. 😄
First of all i want to congratulate you for your new machine and wish you all the luck with it. That is a fantastic bike wich, by the way, I have been studying because i find it beautiful and interesting. Mine is a Yamaha yzf 600 thundercat from the past century 😂, 1998. I love the landscapes from Norway! I also share with you an RU-vid channel where traveling around the world is made by a rider on a Tenere mostly. GOT2GO Cheers!
I remember those thunder cars well. I raced one on my suzuki gs500e the guy really messed up and lifted the front and almost flipped. Getting away on the 500 flat out was so easy. The tdm850 was a really underrated bike back then much better than the yzf600 on normal roads. Trx850 fazer 600 hornet 600 kawasaki KLX650 KLE 500 honda NX650 Dominator XLV600 transalp. Miss all these bikes such a huge choice back then.
Congratulations :) I really liked how happy you seemed the whole ride. I have an XSR700 too, and i am looking for a new bike on the same reasons you talked about on you TestRide Video. I think it will be a Tenere too. Enjoy it and ride safe, greetings from germany :)
Thank you! Yes, the Tenere is a better fit for a taller guy. It feels very robust and solid to ride 👍🏍️ If you can, try the different versions. There is a difference 👍
Just subscribed. You are doing what I plan on doing. I am a XSR owner and if things go right, will be moving up to the t7. I have one complaint. I liked your old jacket. I wear the red plaid myself. Enjoy your new bike and I look forward to your adventures.
Thank you, Robbie! The XSR700-to-T7-pipeline is becoming a thing! Look at us! 😁 Oh and the red flannel is lurking off stage, ready to make a comeback on those extra hot days ♥️
Congrats and welcome to the Adventure Bike life! I personally have a KTM 790 Adventure, I'm 6ft 4in tall and I love it. These parallel twins have great torque down low, they are much happier in the lower revs. You should be able to ride around in 6th gear with no issues, save fuel and it will keep you from hitting 5-6k rpm. Have fun and keep the shinny side up.
Glad You are enjoying it. Once She's broken in You can use All of the revs for braking. I am finding this out on my Tracer 7 GT. Coming down from a Fazer 1000. Liking Your videos to see how You are getting on. Enjoy Your New Bike. She looks Great 👍
Congrats on the new bike! Those are some beautiful roads out in Norway! The Optimate ready thing is just an SAE connector to attach a battery charger. Seat options could be either the Corbin touring saddle or Seat Concepts Comfort. Once you break it in, keeping the revs higher also lets the traction control function better as well! If it says 0kph, does that mean the odometer doesn't go up too? Go on a huge road trip and then sell your low km bike! XD
Thank you! I'm loving life as a T7 dude 😎🌞😄 I'm looking at that Seat Concepts comfort seat, may pull the trigger 👍 As for the odometer, yes it did show zero. There are some opportunities there, for the right kind of , ahem, go getter 😄 (and I'll remove the optimale tag, then 😁)
Herlig video!
Takk for hyggelig feedback! Alltid gøy når du melder, fordi jeg er stor fan av det du lager 👍🎉🏍️ Når jeg er ferdig med break in perioden og 1k service da tar vi en tur 👍
Are they near enough the same price but with one you get a 900cc and a extra cylinder. That was the problem with the R7 for the same money you could get a mt-09
@@chrishart8548 yes, but its not that simple. tenere and mt09 are totally different bikes, With mt09 you get beast of a motor, a real terrier i would say. with Tenere you get more sophisticated, adultlike bike. yes lower power, but higher usability. CP2 server the purpose of tenere perfectly. comparing mt09 with R7, R7 is a toy. XD no one wants to drive one in city bcs of the ergos, the only good use is in track. and in track, CP3 is way more fun no matter what kinda rider ergo bikes got. CP2 serves well certain bikes, Imo R7 is not one of those.
@TalkTheRide I'm on an mt09sp gen three 2022 model I love it. But like yourself I'm 6ft 4 so I coukd do with extra leg space. I do like the extreme after sitting on it at the bike show too. It fits my leg length too where as I'm a bit cramped on the mt09.
Wow 6'4 on an MT09!! I'm just 6'1 and felt like I completely dwarfed that machine 😁 but it was damn good fun, for a few minutes. I'd totally try the T7x if I were you. In the first 4 gears it's got more than enough power, didn't feel all that different to the mt09 👍
@TalkTheRide well funny you should say that as I went to the yamaha open day this weekend to test the new models and none ofcthe dealers had the T700 as it hasn't come in to stores as yet. Bit miffed off I doddnt get to try it out but I did try the new mt09 though but that's nit that much different to mine if im honest. But god knows when the extreame will come in to stores over here for us to see. Some on the forums are only just receiving their bikes they pre ordered months ago.
Nice bike! Have been riding a standard T7 for almost 4 years now. I’m yet to find the bike that will replace it. Very comfortable, even on long distances. The KYB suspension on the extreme tempts me but tbe added height of the bike might be a problem. How tall are you?
Hi Jørgen, I'm 6'1 (1.85m), more legs than torso 😁 It's a bit on the tall end, sure. I might get a more comfy seat and that might drop the height a few cm 👍🏍️🎉
Thank you, Steve! 🙏👍 I'm enjoying the height a lot mist of the time. Feels good , tall and strong. The trade off is on windy days I do feel the wind grabbing. And I have to be a bit more mindful how I park 👍 worth it!
Thank you, Roger! 🙏🎉😊Extreme has better suspension and foot pegs, more ground clearance and higher and narrower seat. And a snazzy new TFT display 👍 If you're over 6 feet tall I say try it out 🎉🔥🏍️
Lykke til med ny motorsykkel. Morsomt å se kjente veier i nærområdet hvor jeg også har kjørt noen ganger. Men aldri kjørt veien mellom Hvarnes og over mot Nes og Høyjord
I have to say it hurts a little when I see you break in your bike. I'm not sure if you've understood the information correctly? Revving up to 5-6000 rpm doesn't mean you should ride around at 5000 rpm all the time. When do you want to use 5th and 6th gear? At 100 you can drive in 6th gear. It is important to create different load conditions, you should not drive at a constant speed. Drive at lower revs, then again at slightly higher revs. Initially, don't rev above 6000 rpm and then slowly increase the maximum revs.
Come on, bro 😁 I'm not riding at constant revs, I just limit myself when I'm about to go over 5-6k. Most of my break in miles are on the highway, 6th gear. It's just boring to watch so I leave it out of the videos.
