Hi, my name is Mary Adkins and I’ve not only had 3 of my books published but I’ve also mentored many other aspiring authors to do the same.
Once I’d gotten my first book onto the bookshelves of a store I looked at the journey I’d taken to get there and thought… I’ve made so many mistakes and false starts… I wish someone would have just told me exactly what to do when I first started.
In this video, I'm going to share the complete guide to getting published.
Write better books, get published, enjoy writing, and have fun! 📖 🥰

My epiphany came during a family trip to Disney World, which was not feeling like the happiest place in the world to that point. I was over stimulated, highly anxious, and struggling with a sinus infection or cold. We finally slowed down from rushing around to lines and rides and watched the preview trailer for their new movie Wish. That’s when it hit me! The story I want to write, to convey the message I want my kids to read, is the one that Disney can’t help but turn into a movie so that the world can experience its power. I struggled for the next hour or two walking around the park as the ideas, concepts, and messages flooded into my brain, distracting from being present with my family. I had to stop and record what I could on my phone to calm myself enough to fully enjoy the rest of the day. But, it was amazing and definitely the “magical Disney moment” everyone hopes for when they get a chance to go there!

I love the aha moments. I get them when I'm reading someone else's novel, watching a movie. But the best one seem to come when I'm writing.

Helpful and encouraging. A start for a beginner with a mandate from God to write this while I don't know what I'm doing. Thank you.

Don't be afraid of rejection. J. K. Rowling was rejected by publishers who don't know anything!
