I just finished the same swap on a ti. The gauge clusters read differently on the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinders. The 4 cylinder one will still work but show the rpms as higher than they actually are. I just got used to it or you can just swap it over to a 6 cylinder one and be all good 👍🏻
I was definitely short shifting the car in the first drive video. Since learning that the rpm gauge was off at the event Ive done some proper pulls on the street and it is insane. It spins tires through 2nd and chirps 3rd with 245s on the rear.
Came here to say this. I noticed on your first drive it sounded like you were short shifting but the guage didn't cross my mind then. You need to peg it at 7k and it'll be a smoke show at the track
Part of your "gearing" is the fact you have a 4cyl rev gauge and the 6 cylinder screws up the signal you can see this when you rev it goes way past redline. Get a 6 cyl tacho
Hit the nail on the head with this one. Too many people overbuild their cars before even hitting their first event. You can have plenty of fun drifting with a basic, low power car and not break the bank in the process.
