Thank you Ron for that lovely burnout !!! I am eagerly awaiting my 540i in 6 weeks and as i am "downgrading" from an M6 with 560hp i was not expecting the 540i to be capable of such an easy burnout :-o Thanks for clearing that for us. I think BMW did everything right with the G30... for all those down here shaking their heads bout that burnout - let the man do his thing and drive your 5er as you prefer :-)
No, it's the 2018 model. Car companies have the option to assign a model year up to 12 months ahead. The 5-Series was launched in January 2017 as a 2108 model. Conversely, Kia launched the Niro after the 5-Series as a 2017 model. There are accounting implications and it varies by manufacturer.
I'm afraid it's not. The new (G30) 5 series 530i and 540i have just barely hit dealerships, as a 2017 model. The 530e and M550i, when they come out in March, will be 2018 model years. But unless you have a time machine, the 540i in this video is definitely a 2017 model year. BMW evidently won't be switching the 530i and 540i to the 2018 model year until July.
I wont ever buy a heads up display equipped car again. WHEN the windshield needs to be replaced, you're looking at $1200 due to the windshield type, instead of $250 for a normal windshield
Nice car. But with the amount of tech they put in it, you better buy it under warranty. Technology is not always reliable, and definitely not cheap to fix.
I love your videos but did cringe as a tyre fitter.......... so many people bring expensive premium cars like this in for new tyres & replace with the CHEAPEST dud no name shit brands that may as well have been rubber pulled from the used scrap pile. It's almost always people with expensive cars that rock up, bang on about the cost of a replacement n then haggle like it's the tyre joint's fault.
let people drive! best thing i've heard in a while! i am sure i am not alone when i say ido not want these autonomus cars! i understand that some people dont like driving or cant drive! but still at least give people who love it the option to drive! i dont ever want a time to come where i get in a car without a steering wheel or a way for me to control it! technology is great but i hope it isnt overdone one day!
Isaiah Deshazier One day there will be autonomous and it will have these modes: Rollercoaster Extreme. Police Getaway. Slow because I'm sleeping. Rolling Burnout. Sideways. Backwards. Every Drive-Thru SuperSize Me. Kerb Crawler. Chauffeur Sex Party. Match The Car Chase On The Movie I'm Watching.
The Accord and Camry are cars that can't be compared in any way at all. O-60 on the 6 cylinder AWD Accord is a poor 5.7 seconds, sluggish, bargain basement dead feeling transmission on the Accord and far inferior drivetrain and interior. The 5 series in line 6 with its stellar torque, absolutely perfect transmission and far superior interior is at another level in both performance and every other metric..Look at the numbers that count and countless other points before an uninformed whine on Horsepower....if you have the bucks for a new 5 series you can add a Dinan package that will not affect your warranty and easily pump it up by 100 HP and more torque, try that with your accord or camry LOL!!
Great review. Found out a lot about the car and enjoyed your style of review. The burnout was unexpected but fine with me. I took it as a sign that you enjoyed your car and it's fabulous engine! Anyone who's driven this engine will know just how good it is. Smooth, powerful and has so much go from tickover! Interior is a beauty too. Classy, stylish, upmarket. This is my first time watching one of your reviews and because I liked it so much I've subscribed. (wtf are BMW doing releasing 2018 cars in 2017? Change the naming, this is going to cause a parts headache for years.)
Josh Thorpe Badges are different. Platform sharing and engineering parts are the same. Everyone does it. So why does a new luxury car company have a stigma to it just because of it's parent company. People said the same thing about Lexus when it was first launched as well. It's your prejudice about Hyundai which doesn't allow you to think about it in the same vein as Lexus which for all intent and purposes to a great degree is just a Toyota with better leather and a stitching and a different badge. Years from now people like you will stick to your same perception while other open minded people will happily think of Genesis like any other luxury badge. Fact: The old Hyundai Genesis when it was under the Hyundai brand outsold the Lexus GS by a far margin.
Krazidawg Have you driven their new automatics? The steering wheel pedals change gear almost instantly. Much quicker than you! 🤣 Or maybe you also like to manual wind windows by hand too?
Listen, I like to have some sort of control when driving my cars. Auto's are for sissies, and the manual window comment was dumb, and since you think you know so much, why was the 911R such a hit? Because customers wanted the control BACK in their hands versus PDK which we know is faster but the experience of driving the car is diminished.
Hopefully BMW won't be giving you any other cars to do burnouts on. Complete waste of tyres and so bad for the environment. I'm sure BMW would not want to be associated with your childish behaviour.
Julian Wilson Oh come on. Have you never watched racing? I think the reviewer was excited about the car. He gave a great review and had enthusiasm and knowledge. I really liked his review style.
