I never thought I'd see my childhood barbershop featured on RU-vid! I was watching your compilation from different barber shops in India and instantly recognized this one from the chairs right next to the door overlooking the main street. My childhood barber, who still works at the shop, always would sit there when he wasn't working and we'd often say hi to him when passing by the shop on our way elsewhere. I used to take the bus to school a few feet away from this shop and spent most of my childhood and teenage years in this areas (I'm almost 30 now). I first started getting my haircuts here when I was three or four years old and was a regular customer until I graduated high school and left the city. I live on the other side of the world now, but come by from time to time when I'm visiting my parents, who still live around the corner. So many memories of my mom buying me candy/treats from the grocery store next door as a kid when I didn't throw a fit during my haircut and of the times I came here on short notice to get my hair styled for school plays and things like that. My dad continues to get his haircuts + head massages done here - he's been a customer for 25+ years at this point. They used to be much smaller and the prices several times cheaper, but Mumbai is probably India's most expensive city and this particular neighborhood has become much more expensive since I first moved there in 1997. We've always thought their prices were fair for the area and they've been great to us over the years. For those complaining about the noise - The street this shop is on is an extremely busy one in one of the busiest cities in the world, so there's no avoiding the noise of traffic. This video made my evening - subscribed!
Both of these comments are very true... Crazy Eyes death stares haha, and getting used to it because it's just the Indian way when you're a white guy with a camera

Definitely too much honking. They don't even hear it anymore so it's useless! The straight razor shave is much less scary with a guy like that believe me, he clearly knew what he was doing and it was butter smooth.
@@shavesandmassagesI've seen so many indian barber vids that I just don't watch anymore because of the damn traffic honking. I bet if they passed a law over there that demanded horns be removed from all bikes and vehicles... total chaos would ensue. I 'm willing to bet the people would overturn their govt.
