btw disco bloodbath was made more than a decade ago, so if it sounds old school that's why it still holds up amazingly space laces is always, two steps ahead I can't praise space laces enough he's such an amazing gift to the world, also this is his second ever ep even though he's been making music since 2007 under the alias cornandbeans on the website newgrounds, and started making music under the alias Space laces in 2010 if you want to know more about space laces go check out nawtysteps video, he made a whole documentary about space laces the video is called understanding space laces if you're curious
The Name of the EP, High Vaultage, is a reference to his Vaultage mixes, which all of these tracks on this EP are from. I HIGHLY recommend you check them out. Some of the most inspired stuff to come out of the scene in years.
one thing you should def know about space laces is his sound design is absolutely amazing, and WAY ahead of his time and will always be ahead of the game, and he's also the Mix king! he blends and mixes very well
Space Laces is indisputably a god of dubstep and EDM as a whole. Literally every single genre he touches he ends up absolutely crushing. I'd highly recommend listening to his Vaultage series just to put into perspective his insane range (Vaultage 001, 002 and 003 are a series of mixes comprised only of his IDs/unreleased tracks, also the namesake of this album because all of the tracks you see here are from there)
Space Laces' sound design and clean mix is really something you have to give him credits for, but still this EP was too hyped up and didn't blow me away (that's why I had the feeling you overreacted a bit, but I guess I'm in the minority). Droid might be cool, but get's annoying after a while. Run DLL is not my cup of tea as well, even tho I love Neurosteppy things in general, this doesn't really hit that well. Not Bees is cool, especially the "pad/riser" in the background which is a bee sound lol, drop is fine, but the lead also gets annoying after a while. Splinters is just a good track. Disco Bloodbath is the only track that could stand the hype. It's old, but it's new and it's fucking (unbelievable) Complextro. You should check out the Overdrive EP as well, which imo is better than High Vaultage
