If this gun can handle 1/4" structural steel rivets in a reliable fashion, it will be an instant hit for tons of heavy truck and bus guys along with manufacturers. No more air hoses all over the place getting brand new panels dirty. BTW, the upper loop is likely more for attachment to retractable tool balancers or safety cables for use in production environments.

Do your research before making comments about the tools you’re showing. The M12 can pull a steel rivet up to 3/16” in size - that’s the largest rivet it accepts. You can’t use it on 1/4” rivets regardless of what they’re made of!

If this is a tool that you use to put food on your table , you will eat better. Those old pop rivet guns sucked. I guess I'll see if it holds up , I have friend who cannot wait for this to hit the shelves. Great vid brother

Can you get a 1/8" head for this, or do you have to swap out jaws to use 1/8" rivits? I'm interested as a sheet metal worker, but the M12 is a pos.

every tool has it's purpose and Milwaukee knows what time it is, this is the 21st century time is money the diy or pro knows if he or she could use this tool in their arsenal.

Would this work with stainless steel hucks for peterbilts grille surrounds and hoods?

Damn.... id never thought id see a Milwaukee tool more expensive than a tool truck brand equivalent . The Matco tools 1/4 rivet gun MCL20RG bare tool is $550 and kit is $750.

I agree, rip off.
@myweigh7089

I mean this is definitely a nicer gun than the matco since the milwaukee has one key and can track and inventory the tool. It also has more pulling force and a place to put your nose cone on the gun.

I totally understand, and kinda agree with you. It's definitely a high price, but I don't think that Matco pulls near as fast as the Milwaukee. At the same time, do you Need it to be that fast?! I guess only the consumer can really answer that question. Thanks for watching.

your ripping yourself off if you buy it and have any use for it,but on the other hand if you have projects and you use this gun periodically it's great and especially if your making money doing it.

I've just got one of these tools, I've pulled three rivets and all the mandrils got stuck in the tube.

Could it be a replacement for a huck?

Couldn’t they have used a metal cir clip instead of a rubber or viton o-ring?

Does it rivet threaded inserts?

The Makita rivet gun is $1350 tool only. So this milwaukee is a bargain for sure.

Not to mention, pneumatic rivet tools in a similar class from Huck, Cherry, and POP start out at $1500 and go up from there. And they don't even come with multiple nosepieces.

@@Shoptoolreviews Thanks for reviewing the 12v as well. I had my eye on that one since I'm just a guy that likes to fix things every now and then so I was curious how that performed vs the 18v. Great job!

for that price i wonder if it comes with a hard case.

M12 Fuel version coming out any time soon?

The m12 has been out for a long time, however it is not able to pull larger rivets.
@klumsytone

However it is not FUEL. I am asking if a FUEL version is in the works.

I don't believe that they're upgrades the M12 anytime soon. These are really completely different tools, or at least they're used in different arenas. Thanks for watching.
@Nirotix

The M12 is a pos imo. If we can get an 1/8" head for the M18, that is the only option.

That tool only price is worse then almost any snap on price.
@Shoptoolreviews
@Shoptoolreviews 3 года назад
Yes, you're probably right; however, I don't believe that Snap-On has a rivet gun like this. Also, let me be clear, I'm not trying to compare the two or say one is better than the other....yet. I'm just saying this is the fastest rivet gun I've ever used. With that being said, do you need a rivet gun that fast? Should you pay $800 for a rivet gun? That's a decision for the buyer, for sure. I guess I'm saying, I don't disagree with you, but I'm not sure that I totally agree either. Wow, that sounded really political, didn't it?! ;) Thanks for watching.

This is definitely not a consumer grade tool.

Very true, this is built and priced for the commercial/industrial customer. Thanks for watching.

if your going to use this tool now and then on some projects i'd say it's worth it, but if your just going to let collect dust don't buy it.
