First Ever REACTION | Valhalla Calling - Miracle of Sound (acapella) VoicePlay ft J.NONE - AWESOME! 

Miracle of Sound commented on this video, gave it ten out of ten ale horns! Speaking of raw emotion I'd like to suggest you watch their version of "Creep!"

J None was recruited as a baritone, but got a promotion this year; and he's now singing bass in Washington, DC. As I understand it, he is now in the top navy choir. The backdrops were all produced by Eli, the raging rock tenor, using gaming software. (Eli started showing us his berserker side in My Mother Showed Me, and it's really intense in Seven Nation Army and Hoist the Colors. Definitely has a dangerous feel.)

Surprised you didn't get whiplash going from their silly and joyful Lion Sleeps Tonight to this badassery as your first and second reactions to Voiceplay! They are amazingly versatile. Geoff Castellucci (the bass) also has a solo channel--it is not a capella, but it also is very much worth checking out.

Warriors that die in battle are the only ones that get to Valhalla. Enjoyed your reaction - great to see another that is thoroughly enjoying VoicePlay. A couple of my favorites: Nothing Else Matters (Metallica), In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Tennessee Whiskey ((older video - Earl, no Cesar yet) Chris Stapleton), Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, Drunken Sailor, Creep (RadioHead), Hellfire, I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt), We're Good (Dua Lipa). They've done a post-apocalyptic trilogy over 3 yr period: Warriors (Imagine Dragons), Dream On (Aerosmith) and Seven Nation Army (White Stripes).

Nothing quite like a Viking war chant to get your day started. If you want something completely different from Voiceplay check out their version of True Colors or Creep.

It was very hot (90+) that day and the studio they were working in the air conditioning had gone out. They only had a couple fans. Shows dedication wearing those heavey HOT costumes. In the Behind The sceens vidios they were melting. Rick Underwood the magic makeup man had a time keeping their makeup and touching up between takes.

I like that they have J staring out across the water at the beginning. He was recruited but the US Navy and he’s come back (at least for this). The rap was added and has some hints to his being in the military (ops, etc). One of my favorite parts is while he’s rapping, in the background you can hear the guys singing “This is WAR”. It always gives me chills. Other commenters with Scandinavian roots have pointed out that the rap is not much of a reach as flyting became a part of Nordic cultures by the 19th century. It’s a “extremely spirited” contest of verbal assaults. Previously they did a cover of My Mother Told Me (also associated with the video game Assassin’s Creed). J was still a permanent member of the group. The makeup and a lot of the costuming is from MMTM. Among their tattoos are runes spelling out VoicePlay. Cesar was not yet a member of the group. Jose Rosario Jr was the guest artist. Cesar is wearing the same robe that Jose wore in My Mother Told Me. Layne (beatboxer ) did the arrangement and Eli (bald rock god) the amazing backgrounds using Unreal Engine which is used in filmmaking and video games to provide digital backgrounds. The only real pieces in that set are the tables and benches. Even the door that J walks through was pure CGI. He was standing in front of a screen and the background opened for him. Layne was responsible for the creaking door sound.. It was filmed, not green screen, but at a studio with immense (Full wall!) LED screens. The music in the outro is the karaoke track. The percussion and background vocals and it could be a piece on its own because it’s also gorgeous.

J None has recently released an original on his solo channel that you may want to check out (he wrote, arranged, did all of the vocals, rapped and beat boxed in it (Am I Here). J None also raps in Voice Plays cover of "Superstition". I think you would love "Hoist The Colours" from Pirates of the Caribbean and "In The Air Tonight" but pick anything that you know and you will not be disappointed.

Their gaming songs (like this one) plus their Rock covers (which I think was mentioned loads in the previous vid) are my favorites, BUT their Disney, Halloween and Medley offerings are amazing too. They give everything they do their best shot ito arranging and performing. 🌹🕊

J None also raps in their video of "Superstition" by Michael Jackson.

They create a karaoke track for their patrons, everything except the lead vocal. Frequently, that's what they put on the outro while their high end patron list rolls. This arrangement was done by Layne (beatbox). Video - Creative Design, Direction, Unreal Engine, Virtual Production, and Editing - Eli Jacobson. Eli has been doing their lights and special effects for several years. Can't wait for your next reactoin to Voiceplay. Did we mention that when Covid shut the world down and Voiceplay had to stop touring that Geoff Castellucci, the bass, started a solo channel? Voiceplay produces a full cover every month plus two or three shorts/minis. Geoff has been doing about half of their arrangements plus his solo work every month. He did Misty Mountains Cold from the first Hobbit movie and I See Fire from the second. Just sayin'.

Awesome reaction to Voiceplay again. This is absolutely one of their hardest-hitting pieces. Their covers of Warriors and Seven Nation Army hit hard as well. But these dude’s are so versatile they can come right back and vocalize a totally-instrumental orchestral piece while dressed as goofy forest trolls (Hall of the Mountain King).

You have come the the Players through one of their funniest songs and one of their most epic. They covered My Mother Told Me, which I think one version was used in the show Vikings.

"This wakes you up!" Has literally been my alarm sound since it came out.

J None here (rapper) has a solo song out now called “Am I here” where you can see a good example of his range out with Voiceplay.

Metal version: Gavin Dunne (@Miracleofsound, the creator of this awesome piece) has several versions out. You might be thinking of the one with Peyton Parish-that’s getting a ton of play. In fact if you want to go down a Viking rabbit hole, these guys did My Mother Told Me (prequel to this one), and The Bass Gang just dropped If I Had A Heart (theme song from the show). And Gavin has another one named Skal. Eli (bald guy, rock god) is an extraordinary actor. They all are great. Great reaction!!

Oh hey, awesome! Love this one; definitely a workout song. You asked where this was filmed -- I forget the name of the studio, but they have a ginormous three-sided curved LCD backdrop. Eli (the bald rock tenor) did all those background visuals himself, and they were projected on the walls.

Yesterday's mall is where Pattycake Studio is, owned and run by Layne Stein (beatboxer) and Tony Wakim (former member). A lot of their videos are filmed in and around the mall. My Mother Told Me is considered the prequel to this video; their clothing is almost exactly the same. Cesar DeLaRosa, the one who puts the hood over his head when J. None starts the rap wasn't yet in the group but the cloak was worn by the guest singer Just Rosario Jr. The group has undergone several lineup changes so you'll see a lot of faces you don't recognize. The group got its start in the Florida theme parks (Disney World?) and they're known as the theater kids of a cappella. Their bass singer's name is Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci and he has his own solo channel

This song can definitely get you moving. I went to an Annual Rock and Gem Show, in my city, after watching this song and what a difference it made. I might have gotten a little over aggressive during the silent auction 😋 I did feel sorry for the guys when I found out first J None's flight was delayed by three hours and the AC was not working. But they produced an epic video.

Just a note on their video production: The song is always pre-recorded and they lip-sync to it for the video. They might sing along with it as they film to make it more realistic, but the final audio is not live. The only exception to this is their ACA Top 10 videos, which are live recordings (except Movie Themes).

Great reaction! Yeah, that would work well for a 'workout' track! Couple of suggestions/rules (courtesy of @DravenGal..!) #1)Check the description part on the original - it'll tell you who does what, and who arranged it, etc. #2) Use good headphones, or at least earbuds - you'll miss so much without them! #3) NEVER assume a video is over until the patrons roll! Often they'll have a "subscribe" or black screen, then something AFTER that in the outro. #4) Always leave the CC on. It's not uncommon for them to have little gems in them. #5) Don't look away from the screen, or if you do, when you go back to it, rewind it a few seconds, because they have some great "Blink and you'll miss it" moments. It's a good rule of thumb when you pause the video too, because sometimes you can miss a transition. Anyway, just some helpful tips...welcome to the wonderful world of Voiceplay! You are right on all counts. You read your comments, pay attention to what you are told and you learn fast! I love that!!

As everyone will no doubt tell you, the bass is Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci (who can easily sing a A flat 1 chest and then reach an A flat 4 chest immediately afterwards - he has almost a 5 octave range). The bald guy is Eli Jacobson - the bad ass rocker who can reach tenor highs and cover a Geoff bass note (my personal favorite). Cesar is the dude with the honey voice (he’s also incredibly fun). You know Layne - beatboxer & violinist (who sings like an angel). J. None was once a member of VP.

VoicePlay and their guests are all talented. Because they have been working on VP since the 90s, they know and meet these fabulous singers. Hard work, talent, dedication, and a sense of humor serves them well.

I’ve seen them in concert. Layne beatboxed for pretty much 3 hours worth of music. One track ain’t nothing for him. 😊 The backgrounds here are all drawn in Unreal Engine courtesy of Eli - the bald tenor. So 100 percent computer gen. And yeah, if I had to pick a fight with any of these boys, Eli would be the last one I’d mess with as he has a martial arts background.

I've been watching your VoicePlay reactions all morning, which I am thoroughly enjoying. But the reason I'm commenting is to tell you that if you love the show "Vikings", you really need to watch "The Last Kingdom" (from here on out referred to as TLK). I watched TLK first, and while waiting for the fourth season to come out I started watching "Vikings" to get my viking fix. However, it was so subpar compared to TLK, that I could only manage watching the first season and part of the second season before I gave up on it. Seriously, TLK is phenomenal, and "Vikings" doesn't come close to it in historical accuracy or storyline. However, make sure that if you watch TLK, that you watch it in the correct order. There are five seasons, which are based on ten books that were written at the time that the series began, and it was always going to be five seasons (each season covers two books). However, two more books were written by the time the series finished, so to cover the last two books they made a movie which you should watch last. Anyway, keep up the awesome VP reactions! I am definitely here for them!

Hahaha! About the law that you are allowed to carry a sword if you're dressed as a Viking. That's true! If it is part of a uniform or historical costume, so long as you're not brandishing it in a threatening way, you can wear a sword in public. I wear my cutlass with my pirate outfit and a claymore at Scottish Festivals.
