I got full bolt ons on a manual SS, pretty much the same setup you have. I went with 1 7/8 long tubes over the 2". Started with the LT2 intake lightly ported and then went MSD. The difference between the intakes is this. The MSD has a higher top end but sacrifices some low end torque under 4K rpm. Not much but it does take a hit. The LT2 doesn't lose torque down low but also doesn't have the top end of the MSD.
E85 has a lower BTU than gasoline, but a higher oxygen content. You'll get 30% less MPG (if that matters) on the same amount of fuel as gasoline. We use in MN as a fuel additive, and actually helps in the cold of winter. But for $3,500 I can turn my gasoline car to use E85, but I see no sense to it for me - I prefer the cheaper (in the long run) gasoline with its 30% higher BTU content. Racers use E85 and don't care about MPG or more cost. To each their own for sure.
I don't get switching to ethanol if you don't increase your compression to take advantage of the higher octane. The energy output of ethanol is actually less than gasoline.
no you dont, some cars like the camaro....... can in fact run off e85 stock. i own an SS. its also posted as general knowledge by GM why it can run off e85 stock. because the active fuel management system in combination with the variable valve timing it has, the car can run stock off e85. also the camaro stock is around 10.something on compression ratio, and e85 needs 12? so with those two things and being close to 12 compression ratio, she runs off e85 fine. @@ShakeDownDevoo
other cars would be like a grand cherokee and others i cant remember off the top of my head. Theres C85, which you definitely! need a tune for. thats racin fuel XD
@@Boberto385 you can not drive a Camaro straight from the dealership & dump e85 in it without a flex fuel sensor & tune. It’s not even bout the compression. You car needs to be tuned with a ff sensor so the car can add & pull timing depending on the ethanol content. Any car needs some type of ff sensor & tune to run e85. That’s why some cars have a “flex fuel” badge on them because they have the sensor & tuned stock from factory like that. No Camaros come stock with a ff sensor to run e85
