First flight of new Jodel 

My father, Jón Karl Snorrason, who has imported half a dozen Jodels, just premiered his latest project and made the maiden flight in front of friends and family at his summerhouse landing strip in Stórabót, Iceland. Jodel D-117A, registration TF-REB. The Jodel was built by Alpavia in 1960 and flew until 1990 when it had a landing mishap in Germany. It had the registration D-ENTI and later D-EXYX. My father bought the project in 2004 and shipped it from Germany in a container with another D-117A. That one flew right away and had the registration TF-REX. This one was finally finished with added C90 engine this year and got the airworthiness few days before this day, the maiden flight, 17th of September 2022. Exactly 1426 months after the first flight of Orville Wright (leap years included). Big day for my father, small day for mankind.
