It makes a lot of sense actually because pigs are instinctually scared of heights, they get scared and squeal just from being picked up by their owner if they aren't trained or used to it. From what I've read I think owners usually have to ease them into it, and you have to hold them close and firmly.
Arms? His wings are what's holding them in the air. I'm impressed that Phil managed to dodge all the arrows and stuff while carrying someone heavier than him!
Phil: "Don't worry, mate. I got this." Techno: "Wait, what do you-" Phil: *grabs Techno and starts flying* Techno: "HUMANS CAN'T FLY PHIL! PUT ME DOWN!" Phil: *casually dodges flying arrows and nets* "I told you don't worry; I got this." Techno: *barely misses getting hit by an arrow* "THIS IS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF NOT WORRYING!"
Techno backed up, shielding Phil from the crowd. Phil glanced at his friend's belt and noticed that Techno finally had left his sword at home. Philza was touched that he was trusted, but now was not a good time for Techno to be off guard. The mob drew closer, and Phil glanced up at the sky overhead. It was about to rain, for the sky was filled with dark rainclouds. "I can lose them in the storm," he realized. Techno smiled nervously, holding up his hands. "Hey guys, let's talk about this," he muttered. "Give us the bird, Blood God," one man growled, pointing his crossbow at the elytrian behind the hunter. "I-" Techno began, before strong clawed and locked around his waist and flung him into the air. Techno was pulled up, up, up, over the treetops, as arrows zipped past him. He looked up at Phil, who had spread his wings and was zooming through the sky in great arcs, struggling to keep Techno from being hit. The Blade's legs swung from side to side as he was lurched in different directions. Eventually, Phil decided to stop playing and flew into the storm above him. For a minute, all he could see was gray fog and Technoblade below him. Then, he broke through the heavens, the sun shining against his wings. He heard Techno gasp, and smiled. They would never see the clearing again, or Techno's cabin, or the drawing that still was carved in the mud. But they were free. IM BACK

A ISLAND!? a huge island west floating in the sky defying the laws of gravity as they flew closer he could see more was laying on the island a beautiful wooden house laid on top as they landed he could hear Phil whisper 𝔀𝓮𝓵𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓱𝓸𝓶𝓮 They land and a tall skinny man wrapped in a purple robe appears In front of techno leans down, looks him up and down, turns his head to Phil and ask in annoyed tone ₩ⱧØ ł₴ ₮Ⱨł₴? 𝓗𝓮 𝓲𝓼 𝓶𝔂 𝓯𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭 Ʉ₲Ⱨ ₣ł₦Ɇ..... The tall man teleported to the side looking VERY annoyed They walked inside

Storytime! Of course, the village Techno calls home would be curious as to where he would go, seeing as how he is gone most of the day, the urge to follow him was growing steadily. When they did, it surprised them to see an Elytrian, the horrifying creature of the night and sky. They wanted to protect the young boy, who seems to be enchanted by the devil with wings, so the crowd grew and rose their weapons aiming at the monster who captivated one of their own. Phil expected this to happened, but he still hope it wouldn't. The times he spent with his new friend, Techno, are one of the most greatest memories he has ever made since the incident. He is his light in this dark and lonely world, he knew they will never forgive him for befriending him, a monster in their eyes. So as Techno tried to talk his people from attacking, Phil decided he had no choice, but to fly and he did. Wrapping his arms around Techno's waist, he didn't even let the boy speak before his majestic ebony colored wings lifted them up to the sky. Techno was surprised, he had never asked Phil to take him for a flight before, but now he understood why he did so. To befriend an Elytrian is to be a traitor in his clan, his friend is just saving him from the path his village made him take, one of misunderstood intentions and fear. As Phil's wings took them away from the screaming crowd and into the clouds above, effortlessly dodging the arrows and spears, he took the boy to safety, where he knew he can never be hurt.

The fact the mob had risked firing their arrows and potentially hitting Techno was incredibly interesting. Perhaps they did not care for him or the Elytrian was valuable enough to chance it.
They'd come out of nowhere, surrounding the small glade where Techno and Phil had been resting. He hadn't even heard the first arrow being fired, until Phil pushed him out of the way. From there, several soldiers began descending the walls of the cliffs, drawing swords, bows, and more then a few preparing weighted nets. They approached menacingly, Phil's wings flaring threateningly as Techno stepped between the hunters and the Elytrian. They were heavily outnumbered, and Techno was without a weapon, but he'd be damned if he let anyone hurt Phil without a fight. As Techno tried to talk the soldiers down, despite the chances of him succeeding being next to nothing, Phil began to move directly behind the hunter. Slowly, he spread his wings, wrapping his arms around Techno's waist. The next thing Techno knew, he was in the air. The sound he made was... less then dignified as he felt a rush of air beneath him, his feet leaving the ground as Phil took off, clinging to the human hunter with a sharp grin on his face. Techno's own was full of nothing but terror, instinctively clinging to Phil as best he could as arrows and nets filled the air. Phil expertly dodged each one, cawing out in a manner that was either a threat, a challenge, or both. He then shot upward, piercing through the cloud layer before effortlessly vanishing with his stolen hunter.
Hey! Your story is beautifully written, but a little repetitive. You used "menacingly" twice quite close together, and you do it with "effortlessly" nearer the end, too. You could try "Phil's wings spreading protectively/threataningly as Techno did the same and tried talking to the hunters." For effortlessly, you could try "Phil expertly dodged..." So on so forth. Don't take this the wrong way, just trying to help :D

Can I just say, a friend and I were planning on writing a fancomic for the human hunter Techno bit and just as we finished scripting the first episode the next day the whole bunny thing started. So glad that there's still content being made for the hunter AU, just gotta say, love your animatics so much! :)

I love that Techno get’s scared when he’s off the ground I like to think that Techno was so used to doing things on his own (plus the fact that he’s fairly large and built) that he’s never been picked up by anyone or lifted off the ground like that.
I was scream-whispering the entire time for Phil to "GET TO HIGHER ALTITUDE GODDAMMIT" because it's midnight and my parents are asleep and wow look pretty animatic

How the hell did they get here? Techno wasn’t completely sure about that fact. Some idiot had noticed he’d been sneaking off and followed him directly towards Philza. Swords glinted in the sunlight and loaded crossbows were thrust towards them, all with men snarling with malice at the hilt. “Techno, step away from the Elytrian.” The Soldier ordered. The human’s gaze brimmed with fury, taking a firm stance between the raised crossbows and his feathered friend. There was no _way_ his wings were going to be wall decor. “Technoblade. I will not repeat myself.” The loaded weapon shook. After a brief moment of silence, something caught our protagonist by surprise. Something was snaking around his waist. Techno angled his eyes down. “Heh?” Phil’s arms. What was the bird man planning? He got his answer. With a titanous flap of his wingspan, they were in the air. Techno’s body seized. He clung onto Phil for dear life and muttered a quick prayer to the Mistress of Death. They sliced through the wind with such ease, that the yells of the human guard were almost drowned out. Arrows flew past them, Phil expertly zipping past each one. Techno reminded himself of how much Elytrian wings could sell for on the market. Phil had clearly done this before to avoid such poachers. The ground underneath them was a quick flowing stream of trees and grass. The occasional pop of colour was assumed to be a flower. A net was thrown at the two. Phil flinched slightly but took a b-line and let it wrap against a tree instead. The Elytrian was gaining height, and fast. Techno hadn’t realised his arms were wrapped around Phil’s neck. If it were another time he would’ve pulled away, but now the clouds were an arms distance away. “Thank you, Mistress of Death.” He exhaled. After all that, Techno had to wonder: Was that what freedom truely was?
One of the things I love most about Casserole is their understanding of how wings work. I haven't seen another animator who draws wings as they would really work in real life AND understands how wings tie into body language. It's amazing every time
Phil being like 12x times stronger than he looks might just be my favourite thing ever. He picked up Techno, and went WHOOSH! The *pull* from his body weight would have been insane!! And then he did all sorts of evasive manoeuvres while carrying him *without Techno holding on!* I am- 😵💫😵🤩🤩🤩
I need more from this! Like in a completely separate storyline with just Hiccup and Toothless as Technoblade and Philza. Bruh, I am desperate for a series. Like....you don't even know how much I repeated A Downed Elytran! 😁😁😁
This reminds me of that line in "passerine" where Phil is like: "I am the God of Freedom, and I am flying the f*ck out of here." And considering Phil's wings are alright, (most people assume Phil's wings temporarily don't works right now), is this far back in the timeline? Writing my rando fanfic on this, I realised Techno's left-handed!!!!!!!! Was that intentional?
YOOOOOOOOOOOO THAT IS SICK i love all of the motions and everything from the music to the emotions inflicted are stunning and amazingly put together techno's reaction is perfect and the confidence showing on phil's face that gradually increases as the flight goes on is so nice you're really, really good at this and i look forward to seeing more from you ! i recently rewatched the first httyd movie and i assure you that you're doing amazing at capturing the emotions the music and visuals make the viewer feel :DD
I've thought about this concept a lot! It's an instinct for pigs to be scared of heights, it's how they're hunted out in the wild. They don't like to be picked up and will squeal when they are out of fear. Owners have to ease them into it and really support them when holding. I'm pretty sure if they're trained you could hold a pig, you just have to get them used to being held first. I'm curious how it would go if something like this actually happened, it would probably have to be a steady work in progress type thing for them to actually fly together.

Since we follow the canon, now Techno should fight the beasts with the help of training with Phil. Or, "Flight test" in the valley, or between peaks. Anyway, great animation! I love this innocent style.
I love your animatics so much! If you take animatic suggestions then I feel like “Beautiful Creatures” from Rio 2 with Phil dancing and chanting would be so cool while Techno is kind of like Blue and doesn’t know how to dance along. Just a suggestion but all your content is so cool! Very inspiring!!
I just wanted to say, you’ve really inspired me to start practicing wings. Two of my original characters have wings but I rarely draw them because wings are hard. Because of you, I’ve decided to put in more practice. So thank you for inspiring me!

Сначала я думала что в анимации задействованы какие-то эффекты... ну тоесть например вырезаешь отдельно персонажей, а потом в видео редакторе завтавляешь их плавно двигаться и т.д. Но посмотрев анимацию на скорости 0,25 я обнаружила что это все покадровая анимация! Но не смотря на это она выглядит достаточно плавной! :0 Скорее всего, это происходит просто из-за быстроты кадров, мозг сам дорисовывает недостающие элемнты. Но это честно говоря абсолютно не отменяет того факта, что анимация действительно хороша) О, ну и музыка из КПД тоже прекрасна))
Ok, here me out on this one: See You Tomorrow, but it’s when Phil Takes Techno to the Pub(e). It’s there that Techno meets the others like Wil and Scott. Having to discover the truth about them, he spends days and nights rewriting everything that bestiaries and other books lied about, even redrawing what they actually look like, calling it the Book of Origins.

Headcannon: Phil can fly so well with a human in his hands bc he used to have a lot of human/other non flying origin friends (aka tommy and wilbur mostly) and practiced flying with them a lot so when he picked up techno is was a true sign of trust and protection. like fighting a battle with someone on your side, you've never met them but they protect you and you protect them. once your both in the air you need to trust each other completely
This is amazing!! Love the content and how smooth the flow is with the wing beats along with the turns. Not to mention how Techno clings to Phil during their first flight.
i can literally see the scene from the movie, like i can see when everything in that scene happened with the music. This is how i know that watching the same movie more than 20 times within my lifetime made me just actually memorize it. Also this is awsome, just how everything happens and the music backs it up. This is truly a masterpiece, good job. Edit: I've watched this four times now and im still not tired of it

I’ve lived and breathed the httyd soundtrack ever since I was a mere 6 year old, and seeing one of my old favorites being revived by a new fandom gives me a truly indescribable feeling of the warm and fuzzies.
He has a birds nest for a home I see it now and I can't unsee it now you all will have an image of Philzs in a birds nest treating techno as a hatchling and Phil getting food and random treasure in the former of hunting for techno (lol Casserole will probably not see this BUT anyone who does read this is hope you enjoy the wholesome though of it!!!)
