Check out this short introduction flight in the Boeing AH64D Apache Attack Helicopter by Eagle Dynamics. It's still in early access but - oh my - quite complex already...
Enjoy!

Hellfires are either laser guided or radar guided. The only heat-seekers ever mounted on Apaches are Stinger air-to-air missiles on the wing tips.

@jackmeeoff5257more of a light seeker, as the missile is following a specific frequency of light being reflected from the laser.

Hellfires are not heat seeking. They track the laser sent out by the TADS, given both systems are set to the correct laser wavelength. When taxiing, the pilot has a tail wheel lock/unlock on his HOCAS, toggle it off for straight taxiing and quickly toggle it on for any form of turns. Use your IHADS, its one of the most important tools an Apache pilot will use. It has different display modes for different regimes of flight. Force trim is really important too, its what resets your SCAS, which is important because when hovering the helicopter will engage heading hold. If you are light, press force trim with controls centered you can pretty much take off without any rudder, since that system will be keeping you steady. So when hovering, yaw left, keep it steady in that direction, press force trim up, and the hold mode will keep you facing that direction. Hopefully not patronizing, but you seem like a brilliant sim pilot and I was very impressed with this video. Really well done

No, not at all. Thx for the Info! It's a deep simulation all right. Seems I still got a lot to learn 😉

Within DCS, you are always learning. Which is brilliant IMO. 1500 hrs in, still finding things I never knew. Its an amazing journey@@thenerdyhelisimmer4608

Great video. Request permission to give you a „hint“ (this is to be understood with a humble intention from my side): To crank up the helicopter you‘ll need either the APU or external power. You‘ll not need both. Your video is outstanding. Master quality, sir!👍 BTW: Leaving that „ignition“ knob in „external“ power state, leads to exhaust the two batteries soon. No worry when the gens are up and running - but if you power off the bird you’ll not be able to do anything more with it unless you recharged at least one battery.😘

Bothered me at first also, but in VR you don't notice it after a few minutes, too busy flying.

@@thenerdyhelisimmer4608 It's where the helmet goes when not in use. Like when they are at an airshow.

Hi! Cool review!personally I’m a fixed wing guy but in theese days I took on hand my KA-50 on Dcs, it’s always a challange 😅

@@GabryelHdPerformance I don't think so. I find it quite expensive for just the MSFS FM. Also I don't get much enjoyment out of hyperstabilized helicopters. Good for IFR though...

DCS AH-64 is a lot of fun! It is essentially three helos in one. You can fly as pilot and have George AI do this thing, or you can fly as Copilot Gunner and have George AI fly as pilot...or you can fly as Copilot Gunner and do it all.
