FOR EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY. This is the first complete runthrough of the 2017 Bluecoats show entitled "Jagged Line" performed at Denison University on June 20th, 2017.
I swear for 2018's show they might as well just scatter the pit all over the entire field and have everyone perform in their underwear. Show entitled "Asymmetrical"
😳 Now I know why Thank You Scientist was blown away by what they did with the arrangement and execution. The reprise of "Psychopomp" and that chorus hit at 11:12 is incredible. Can't wait to see it in person.
yeah the angled design for the front ensamble was really dope and must have been fun to put together switching from marimba to vibes really quickly like that.
It's nothing compared to watching them rehearse in person. They execute everything from water breaks to simple instructions and changes so well. I loved watching them rehearse for that show and they sound amazing
I was there that night and it was the first live DCI performance I've ever seen/heard. My life is forever changed, for the better! Thank you, Bluecoats! 💙 BLOOOOO
I've watched multiple runs of this, in theaters and these videos on youtube and every time I watch it I love it more, and now since I've heard all of the solos now I think this can be another world championship show and beat Blue Devils. I absolutely love it.
the first show the bluecoats did was at the DCI tour premiere in Indy and they livestream that show to some theaters so I went to it in a theater by me.
This is absolutely amazing! Between this video and the others I have watched this show five times already. 😂 Can't wait to see the show in person. Great job Bloo!
4:00 YESSSSSS god damn you guys know how to give a former bluecoats upper mello big ol' chills! ten years removed from my last sesh with the corps, oh shit. anyway that was a wonderful moment right there. this show's got a whole lot of potential.
also those sets of three descending mello notes in the ballad climax totally sound like our part leading up to the big chord in 'my heart and i' from '06...anyone else notice that?
Emmanuel Acevedo don't get me wrong I love band, I was in marching band for 3 years in HS and one in college, I just don't follow DCI or anything but when I heard they were doing a song from one of my favorite bands I had to check it out!
I saw this cause i went on a marching band video watching binge and couldn't beleive it when i saw this cause the time signatures alone would make this super hard. I don't listen to thank you scientist a ton but they're one of my dad's favorite bands.
Dude, this show amazing. I love it so much and the music is just perfect. So energy-filled and every section is just on point. Honestly, the best I could've ever possibly seen.
the drill at the end with them looping around the prop all the way to the front sideline mesmerizes me. the drill is AMAZING and everything comes together cleanly at the end :') the hit at 11:12 !!!! impeccable !!!! and the way the soloist in the front merge perfectly in line with the rest of the hornline?? beautiful!!! ugh this show makes me cry every time
If you watch DownSideUp and then watch this show it almost feels like the start of this picks up where DownSideUp left off. Like as if DownSideUp never really ended, they kinda just paused it.
I’m waiting for the bluecoats to win the zingali. They steadily have some of the cleanest flag features. All it will take is the right staff and the right members. I definitely think they could take it.
Out of all the other shows this year I've watched this one is definitely the best. The concept and music all makes sense unlike other shows that sound really unprofessionally put together
As a freshman member of the Lincoln-Way Community High School Marching Band trumpet section, I am truly amazed by your work, for many reasons such as, we're only a semi-large high school marching band that placed 25th in BOA Grand Nationals this season, and the skills are astonishing, especially the super cam for your 2016 show "Downside Up." I seriously envy you and your abilities. You truly inspire me to become better as a person, and as a member of the LWMB trumpet section Mr. Gunnarson!
A lot of mixed Bloo/Crown opinions, but honestly as long as one of them beats BD, I'll be just fine. Both corps (Bloo/Crown) have completely different and equally impressive shows!!
No blind hate, people just get sick of seeing the same corps winning year after year. Not discrediting what the Devils do, they're an amazing corps, but it just gets kind of stale and predictable when they crown the same champion every year.
Devillion100 Also, BD members are cocky about their winning streak.. nothing against the corps though, they have an amazing hornline, like many other corps. Bloo and Crown fans are pretty salty about them getting all the credit and bloo and Crown tried new things, and they've started to impress the judges more.
