Wow I have the same watch too! We have similar tastes :). Also I believe gshock discontinued this particular variant, I checked on their Japanese website and this variant is no longer displayed. I guess we got lucky!
Thanks for the video, it was very useful seeing the watch in different lighting and hearing about your experience with it. I just ordered one for myself, been wanting a positive square with bluetooth for so long and this is it!
You won't regret ordering it man. It's a fantastic timepiece and after 6 months I virtually never wear anything else. The G-Shock connect world time app is fantastic too. Let me know how you find it....!
When synced with your mobile phone the watch automatically updates time data as you cross time zones. I drove from Texas to California and at the exact moment I crossed a time zone and the border of Arizona the phone updated. Awesome first choice ✌🏽
this black GMW-B5000 variant with positive display with black buckle and keeper on resin band is definitely one of the nicer of the regular edition metal square line up. If I didnt have so many already I would have bought one already.
Just ordered this one! Have the same in stainless with the negative display and love it. Will be nice to have this variant. Ditched my Apple Watch and the rolexes are in the safe these days. 👌🏻👏🏻🇨🇦
I really like this model, it's understated and could be mistaken for a regular square, with no bling factor. It'll be interesting to see what Casio releases as squares for the 40th anniversary in a few years. It was the GMW5610 which got me into purchasing a few more Gs.
That's an interesting thought about 40th Anniversary releases. They are moving ahead with technology so fast right now there are bound to be some very special releases by then...
Ordered mine on Amazon after watching your video...just love it....request you to do a follow up video for us to understand how has your experience been with it and how it looks after a few months of wear...perhaps more wrist time on the video would also be appreciated....good review mate...
Pleasure my friend. Thanks for the feedback. I've owned it for almost exactly a year so plan to do a report on how it is very soon, suffice to say it is positive news. Cheers
It's a fine beast. It was approx 500 USD so cheaper than the Titanium by a long way but ticks most of the same boxes. Although I admit the Titanium is next level and looks superb with the gold accents and the finish is superb.
Funny you mention that. The S5600J with the carbon strap is the one that got away for me. I didn't realise how hard they would become to find and now kick myself for not getting one a while a go. It must be the perfect square for the gym as it's so light and strong. In fact you've just inspired me to have another trawl of Amazon so see if I can find one so thanks! Cheers man...
rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F254059134014 Looks like he's currently out of stock. (typical) I'd drop him a message though and see when he plans on getting more in. Good luck.
Yes I still wear it in the office most days and any more formal situation. Wonderful watch. Light, comfortable, practical and tough. Love it for travel too as it's so easy to update the timezone via the Bluetooth app. I'll not let this one go...
It certainly does still get wrist time, I adore this watch. Certainly the GA-2100 and GA-2110 means it gets a bit less wrist time but I'm still very pleased I own it and can't recommend it enough if you are into a smart casual option of G-Shock. I hope that helps Sir!
@@stormrider1119 Your videos helped as a whole! I just got mine in today, and I absolutely see this as my everyday and travel watch. I took note of your mention of the benefit of the rubber strap vs the steel and I really am glad I went with the rubber strap, it feels much better than typical G-Shock resin straps, and much lighter than the full steel strap. I also absolutely a huge fan of the positive display. Thank you again!
@@enriqueleon6493 excellent choice and thank you for the kind words good Sir. I really think you will find the watch more versatile with the rubber strap. I certainly do. For example when cycling the vibrations make a metal strap very uncomfortable, I wear mine with rubber strap for cycling regularly. Plus metal straps pinch my arm hair which is a personal peeve lol. Just wait until you start using it when you travel and synch it with G-Shock Connect App. It's a game changer trust me...
Very good question and valid point. It is only visible when you link it to the G-Shock Connect app. So not an issue, just an extra step via Bluetooth ... hope that helps.
The blue one seems as if the numbers on the display is ever so slightly bigger. It might be the negative display that plays tricks on me, but I'm wondering about it.
I have the blue version, its utterly beautiful in real life. Maybe the best video of it is on Random Rob's channel, where it looks as close to real life as a video can get.
Damn good question. I just looked up the 1ER and it looks identical to me. I wonder if it's a regional code difference? Someone more informed than me will chime in on the matter I'm sure. Good work on the order. You will love it...
@@stormrider1119 Yeah. It looks exactly the same. Could be a regional thing. It´s actually not availble at the AD´s here in Sweden so bought it from Finland. :-) Yes! I´m pretty sure i will like it. The budget version of the new GMW-B5000TB. :-)
I’m surprised that they are running out of stock fast, I’m assuming your in the UK? I bought 2 of them, one in negative display and the other positive both in black metal. Obviously the positive comes in rubber strap like yours but I never had an issue in ordering them both, they’ve always were in stock as I ordered the positive display after 1 month owning the negative display. Both of them were bought from Casio UK website as I was worried about ordering the fake versions if bought from somewhere else. Enjoy your purchase as it’s a fine watch. A watch for life.
