In this video I show you how to do a master cylinder replacement in my first gen 1978 Dodge W200 Power Wagon.
After getting my 78 Dodge W200 back on the road it was apparent I had a few issues. The worst of which was a master cylinder that leaked severely.
Luckily, the replacement is a cinch with basic hand tools and parts you can source from your local Autozone/Orielly/Advance.
Here's what you will need
- 1qt of fresh DOT 3 brake fluid
- A handful of standard/metric wrenches (9mm, 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", and 9/16") for master cylinder removal and brake bleeding
- A means to remove (and re torque your rear wheels). Lug nut size 13/16"
- A bench vice or clamps for bench bleeding the master cylinder
- A Mity Vac, Power bleeder, or friend to assist in the bleeding process
In this video we also address a handful of other issues with my truck including the broken tailgate latch which I fixed here:
