Just like you I love my RF Zooms, but because you do product photography and require close up shots you should consider buying the 100 2.8 RF L for its macro ability.
Glad you liked the video! Hmmm... unfortunately I didn't spend much time with the lens to explore it in detail, but if I remember correctly, I was also expecting the zoom ring to be smoother, but when I tried it I didn't notice any difference. In case it is smoother, than it's probably not by much.
It’s very likely in my opinion. It would make sense to be consistent in size and weight so that you can easily switch between them. The trinity lenses for photography are also similar in size especially when collapsed. But let’s see what they come up with :)
Well if you asked me, nothing is perfect for a gimbal no matter the weight because I don’t like using them generally. But with this lens you don‘t have to rebalance the gimbal when you change focal lengths because it zooms internally. That part is what I called perfect for a gimbal.
I’m getting tired of RU-vidrs talking about lenses being too expensive. Go look up the price of any cinema zoom lens that’s manual focus and tell me this is expensive. For my day-to-day run and gun cam operating work or editorial photo gigs, I can use one lens instead of carrying three.
