They changed the middle divider into a removeable one because people complained. There's always a complaint 😅 Besides, with the old one, if you don't need it you can't remove it and it's a little bulky so it takes space. With the strap pocket, that's a specific problem you had. It wasn't very useful for me. Harder to open, access, and put bigger stuff too. Now I can use it more, maybe with filters or lens covers. Besides, they have a new camera strap clip for arcaswiss that might replace the PD one. It might be easier to use. And the strap pockets possibly made the backpack more comfortable. I'm not sure when the last time I used those pockets. For me, only the removed RFID pocket was a downgrade. I think there's pros and cons to the changes. But I kinda like the design of the older shoulder bag. Cause usually I have other stuff I can put on top compartment, maybe a second camera. It was great when you just want to bring that bag, you can fit an a7c with 35mm there, plus a gropro AND your phone. That was crazy. But it's not a big deal. Sad to see it go but I can adapt and find other ways. But I appreciate this video. All good information, thanks!

@garynguyen6621 16 дней назад
@@juljanskurani so its pretty much stuck closed at the moment, but the prior "fix" for me was that at the very top part of the track I used to pliers and cut the track. It was the only way I was able to put the zipper back on track , because it dangled loose from one side. It had came off due to the bottom right of the pocket doing the same thing as the video. So it was working, but I forgot to tie a little know at the very top where I had cut, so I zipped it a tad beyond that point. And well as of now its kinda stuck closed lol Hope that all made sense

Some folks yapping about how people buy it for the hype and film simulations. Lets not forget that it has a built in flash, hybrid EVF/OVF, leaf shutter that allows for insane shutter speeds for flash in the sun. Did i mention that there's a lense built into it as well. No other fuji camera has all these elements in the same camera, yes the xpro has the ovf / evf hybrid as well but its big, has no leaf shutter or flash. The xt50 has the flash but none of the other features and no weather proofing Update, also has the built-in nd filters

Yes the X100v is a great camera when compared to other brands (in its original price range) but no way now that it's become an expensive camera on the resale market.. For the amount of money the X100V costs on the resale market at the moment you're getting absolutely scammed if you buy one in 2024. It's essentially a point and shoot camera it has no valid right to cost much more than $1- $1400. For that price range it used to be one of the best point and shoot cameras on the market but if you paid much more than that you got scammed. For the current resale price of the X100V you can literally get a brand new XT-5 which is literally one of Fujifilms flagship professional cameras. People like the x100v for the same reasons as the GR2 they're great point and shoot cameras, they fit in your pocket and used to outperform for their cost. From a professional users perspective they're basically useless, but if you like photography they're so much more fun to use than an iPhone camera (but shouldn't be considered as much more than that)

Great work, it's difficult to find great side by side comparisons like this. This is very interesting because I assumed that shooting 10-bit clog3 on the r6ii would make recovering highlights / shadows easier than the 8-bit clog "1" on the eos r. but I can't see a difference at all (edit: can't see as significant difference as I would have expected). I also have a question for you! I have an eos r and find that the rolling shutter on 4k is tolerable with no fast movements BUT if shooting handheld the electronic stabilization does not mitigate the kind of "ripples" from micro jitters that you get because of rolling shutter. Using my brain, I have concluded that IBIS would actually solve the micro jitter issue. I think the rolling shutter is actually that same on the r6 and eos r in 4k... around 30ms on both. I was wondering if you could confirm the r6 ibis sort of solves these micro jitter induced ripples in the footage. Thank you!
@juljanskurani
@juljanskurani 18 дней назад

@juljanskurani
@juljanskurani 18 дней назад
I disagree with the instagram filters comparison. As of the other fujifilm cameras, I believe you that it’s possible to get similar results with cheaper cameras even though I‘m not very familiar with the system. However I did mention that I liked this camera for the overall laid back vibe and for being so quirky, not for working with it. In today‘s overstimulating world, that might be more important to people than one might think. :)

@@wtfbbqz no I'm not criticizing the camera I'm criticizing how people jump on bandwagons. It's because of youtubers and Instagram influencers that this particular camera now costs 2 - 3x it's original cost. People are buying into the x100v because of youtuber hype, not because of independent thought and rational thinking. People want this camera simply because other people want it. As for the camera itself, you can't even change lens on it meaning all these people using this camera are all basically making the same cookie cutter images as each other given its point and shoot nature. You can literally get fujifilm's current flagship the XT-5 or even the XH2 for less than the current selling price of the inferior in literally every way X100V.
@cacaulaymulkin7724

@@juljanskurani you can literally get a brand new XT-5 for cheaper than what X100Vs are currently selling for. It's that ridiculous. The XT-5 is literally a superior camera in every single way and takes way better pictures by every metric. The X100V only limits your creativity as a photographer with its lack of lenses, no grips, no dials, no real viewfinder, a small battery etc it's a fun hobby point and shoot camera to whip out of your pocket at parties, but way overpriced nowadays due to it's influencer hype. There are better Fujifilm cameras that will do the same if not better than the X100V for a fraction of the price because you aren't paying the hype tax.

Unbeatable camera is the eos r with atomos ninja 10bit 422 HQ with speed booster is my favorite only if you shoot 24 not 60p Let me tell you why I can get a eos r used for 700 and since the crop is 1.74x you put a speed booster on it and get wider and more light for low light and on top of that you can use lenses like sigma 18-35mm 1.8 and turn it to a 1.2 Also canon 17-55mm 2.8 stabilized which are goat lenses if the crop was 1.5x wouldn’t be possible so I really like the 1.74x cause even with the speed booster you can use any lens you want with no vignette and Let’s no start about photos cause the eos r is a goat for photos last thing is just remember the eos r was once the best canon mirrorless camera that everyone was talking about just cause the latest and greatest came out don’t let that change your mind the eos r is amazing unless all you need is a slowmo camera

To answer your question: a film preset can still not beat film, as for your editing I'm able to pick it out every single time, the one with the more natural looking grain and the more vibrant colors and contrast just to happens to be film, tonally I suppose they look similar, but in some examples that's not true either 3:08 is just too muted, film looks great. Hi Juljan, An after-market buckle for the strap could partially solve your chest strap issue. Find the buckle you like (there are many options on the net) with the correct width, and please measure it three times before cutting the original PGY strap in the right place. However, that will not solve the ability to move it easily up and down. I had the peak design backpack strap mount, and I hated it. Every step was a click because there was play in the mechanics. I replaced it with the PGY version and have been happy ever since. The PGY version is cheaper and PGY offers a wider range of attachments, such as those for any tripod (so you wouldn't have to buy the limited variety and very expensive PD tripods). The PGY downside is that you cannot adjust as precisely the hold on the strap, and I wish it would not slide slowly down while attached to OneMo 2. The lack of answer from the PGY warranty department is a bummer.

With the appropriate choice of older EF lenses, sharpness can be reduced, although AF in video won't be quite as good. (I also use vintage lenses with manual focus, even more organic.). There are also other types of filters for existing lenses, but I am less of a fan of that those.
@juljanskurani
@juljanskurani 3 месяца назад
That‘s a good point, but I‘d like a solution where I can keep using my RF lenses, because I don‘t want to loose money selling those or spend money and getting ef versions of the rf lenses I already have. That sounds wasteful in all ways. I need a way to get sharp footage when I need that, and softer footage when I want a more film/documentary style on the RF lenses I have. That way I can keep my setup small and minimalist. At the moment, it seems like getting the c70 would be the next step to solve this problem, since it produces softer footage, has great DR and can make use of my RF lenses. But before that, maybe playing around with some mist filters to see if they can help with the highlights on my R6 II is the way. Why aren‘t you a fan of filters?
@p_adam19
@p_adam19 3 месяца назад
I almost always buy used, preferably pristine items, so I basically never use value on any of the gear I own (unless I damage it, even then I usually get close to even) Unless prices hit an all-time low for a daily fire sale on new stuff. For instance: got my (2nd) R6 Mark II for 2300€ with cashback - does not sound special, until you realise it comes with an RF 24-105/4L kit lens that I just sold for 900€ (that one had a disappointing squealing noise when tracking AF was used for stills, I had multiple copies, quality control on kit lenses seems inconsistent) so the body only cost me 1400€ (1st R6II wasn't bad either for 1700€, would have bought more if I had the resources). Then I also got multiple R6 bodies on Black Friday for 920€ each, also a steal, they have to be worth a few hundred more currently. And finally, with the imminent arrival of the R5 II I can be a lookout for an R5 again, which I still prefer to the R6 Mark II, having it sold at the worst time before the 1.6 firmware (also paid a joke price just a few months after release, guy was probably fed up with error messages, his SD card was the culprit, nothing wrong with the R5) It does have a slightly more organic look, for lack of a better word in 24p, where it downamples from 8K (sharpness setting 0) And as a hybrid, handling is more sublime than the R6 series (programmable C3 video mode for pressing the record button in stills mode, photo and video modes are independently treated and remembered, meaning I can go from C1 photo to C2 video with just one click, I can disable other modes instead of spinning the wheel of fortune on an R6 II. Sounds like a tiny thing, but it is miles better. So, after a while, I tend to flip them, only to realise later that certain items should have been kept, lenses hold their value steady, and deals on EF lenses seem to be scarce. Well, the problem with filters come into play when I have to stack multiple ones. Yes, ND+mist combined ones do exist, but most filters are hideously expensive for what they are(well, at least I didn't pay new prices because they can be hard to resell if it is not the "right" type, size, etc.), and having so many vintage lenses I am almost guaranteed not to have the right size, adapter rings are also a pain etc. Very fiddly and costly at the end of the day. (Might be the C70 one day, saw it for a very good price once, but that is rare, and loosing IBIS won't be the best) I really need to start scaling down vintage stuff, but the difficult part is that they all look quite fantastic for video. So it's not like i oppose to filters, I just think the effect of those lenses cannot be replicated to the same degree and they are getting harder to obtain by the minute. Cheers, Adam@@juljanskurani
