We agree that modern motocross machines are getting expensive, but we have made them that way, as riders. We all want lighter, faster, stronger bikes that have amazing features and amazing performance. This bike is amazing and amazing isn't cheap. Used bikes are always a way to save money and have a good time.

I disagree. From my experience, the upkeep has been very minimal. Im on new ktm bike #3. All I ever have done is, air filters and oil changes. No issues yet. Also I am far from a millionaire, yet I make it a priority to be able to buy a new bike every 2-3 years. All about your priorities.

SNK NEO-GEO what changing oil every 5-7 hrs ? I have 57-hrs on my 2017.5 factory edition and have only changed oil and air filter, tires , normal stuff. Bike is incredible!! Map-2 is ballistic

Engineering and materials used. You do pay a premium for KTM, this is where your money goes.
