Lovely first impressions! Thank you. I knew that you will look at it from the right angle. Dirty civet is common... actually it's the only type featured in many other fragrances including the ones you mentioned. Synthetic as well as fresh natural one are both fecal in their own way. Highly aged civet paste on it's own is very different. Refined as you said and ... very mellow. That's what make this fragrances very unique in my opinion. Because this civet is so mellow and shy it's not coming to the spotlight... yet it's presence is always there. Sprayers yes 10 = 1 sadly this vials are only ones of the few types that not leak durring long flights... Thank you.
Thank you for sharing some of your creations with me and I am glad you thought I did the first impression justice...my aim is to be fair and honest in my thoughts & true to how a fragrance makes me feel & I try and convey that in the video... i will end up doing first impressions on all of the offerings that you sent eventually... thank you again 🙏
@@RamseytheRam can't wait! Honesty is what we all seek! Always was saying that truly constructive , critical feedback brings the most benefit to an artist.
@@areejledorerussia if you want a laugh go watch my xerjoff video from a few days ago....hopefully they take me anihilating that fragrance as constructive 😂😂😂
Wow 😲 breakdown master class right there, I’d say Adam was absolutely floored by that ,in the best possible way ,now see why he sent you the samples you got the fragrance savvy, the gift to dismantle and rebuild a perfume and nail it .outstanding sir ,dammit I can’t even get the play dough smell from a damn tub of play dough 😂.great job 👏🏻👏🏻
This is unlike any civet note you have ever smelled... Russian Adam left a comment where he talked about it for a bit & I pinned it to the top of the video... they refer to it as ancient civet paste... another animal all together from the synthetic civet or even natural civet from the old days you are used to smelling! Really interesting stuff!!
Fantastic Lesson On This Fragrance.. He Sends You These Samples Because He Like Us Can Tell You Love And Have The Knowledge To Speak About Fragrances.. REAL Recognizes Real.. Love The Work.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
I wore it to bed the other night and I love it too... I think Sultan Pasha is a genius And some of the stuff gets shuffled around because I have a 2nd storing spot too where stuff goes and comes back so it isnt all new 🙂
Great video 🐏 I have a 10 ml of this and get a slightly honeyed quality that I find in some of Sultan Pashas work. Adam seems like such a passionate, humble dude.
Oooh I am so stoked for you to get your nose on that almost-unicorn 🦄 I told you about. My bottle arrived yesterday and it is the biggest civet monster I’ve ever smelled (haven’t tried vintage kouros though) paired with big indolic florals and heavy moss.
Yes well its gonna be a bit since Anooj is holding my bottle ... however he also found me a vintage bottle of dioressence... so very excited about that... i am waiting to see if other bottles pop up before he ships 😊
I almost tried to skip this video as it was free samples given to you but the first 3 minutes and last 8 minutes of the video changed my mind. Thanks for standing by your policy Ramsey🙏.
Thanks for trusting me enough to watch something I reviewed I didnt pay for 🙏 BTW my policy is it will never change what I have to say on the review... if you ever feel I treated a fragrance different because it was given to me for review please virtual slap me 🤚
@@RamseytheRam 😂 no way that’s gonna happen Ramsey. I am fan of Robes08, Marc who is been reviewing for so long I see you and Marc in a same way that will never fall for free bottles. I am not sure if you are *not into layering perfumes even I don’t but one of my perfume friend suggested to layer Furyo and Musc ravageur as you mentioned in your in on your video that vintage MR is to go as it animalistic and the newer version is more gourmand, i do have vintage and newer version of MR the civet in Furyo gives a animalistic push to Newer MR.
@@ramvenu4883 i just cant get myself to layer... i just feels... WRONG 😂 Putting me and robes08 in the same sentence is blasphemous ... Marc is an absolute legend... I am still a nobody... but I can appreciate what you mean😊
It’s been rumored that Queen Elizabeth I adores L’heure bleue and wears it often. I love it too. I really want to try some Areej perfumes. They sound luscious. Nice review. Thanks!
If you like l'heure bleue that would be a good starting point as that is one of the closest frags to civet de nuit but there are so many differences....i would love to get your thoughts so do let me know if you get your nose on this 😊
Hey Ramsey- great video!! You might have saved me some $$ as I think I was going to use your review to justify my blind-buying a full bottle... And my hesitation isn't anything to do with florals, etc, but I also own a vintage Bal a Versailles extrait, and an OLD gold man (before it was called Gold, it was Gentleman's EDT... Amazing juice) sooo.... Maybe I'll wait...? Do you know where I can buy a sample? Also-- I love your shirt!!! purple is my favorite color AND the color of HELIOTROPE... intentional?? If so, very clever! Great video as always.
Awesome, cant wait for the other first impersions. Also would be intersting to hear your thoughts on salome from papillon perfumes as its poudery and very musky animalic fragrance featuring castorum and hyrax.
@@RamseytheRam yes Salome is amazing. I wish I knew it would sell out so fast at Max Aroma, coz I would have bought 2 back ups. One bottle of Salome is just not enough.
@@ChildofGodforevr it is amazing isnt it? Its my favorite bit of work from Liz Moore...on a side note I hate to mention this name but if you like Salome have you tried Diaghilev yet? The two are linked in my mind for some reason .. probably because they are both animalic chypres but still 😊
Heliotrope fragrance!? Heliotrope fragrance!? Are you bloomin mad? I wish i could get l’heure bleue-but alas, it is not to be. All i get is musk. Musk. and more musk. Pretty sure it’s natural musk because when it’s in a fragrance that’s all I smell. I must have one of those afflictions. But by golly I’d make a great tracker dog for the musk deer……Get your nose on sultan pasha’s chypre Narcisse and al lail. Fantastico. Speaking of fantastic, your love of fragrance is infectious.
@@RamseytheRam very rich and complex and if you choose the right one, animalic. Harkens back to old vintage. Seems up your alley- teatro alla scalla vibes.
Interesting... i have never smelled an attar in my life.. not really my thing... i like the ritual of spraying... i hear he is releasing a line of spray perfumes..maybe i will pick one up 🤔
Don't put a gender on it, for it might not meet your expectations. Good point. I have the 9ml of it from Areej . I like it. I might look for a partial bottle. Russian Adam used synthetic civet in Inverno Russo. Did he send you any of that? I have a bunch of older Sultan Pasha samples. I'll look for them. Oh, was looking through my collection and my Royal Water has only three ingredients listed. Got some Acteur. The ingredients listed go as follows. Ready, don't blink. Alcohol, Fragrance. It's really really good. Side note, some people complained about the use of the synthetic civet used in Inverno Russo. So Russian Adam changed to an almost all-natural, then people complained about the all-natural, so he changed again. He does read and listen to his clientele. I think that's kind of amazing in itself. I have Civet de Nuit right in from of me. I'd spray it, but I just splashed on some Lagerfeld Vintage Cologne. Boy, I really like this one. I have a 60 ml in the cologne spray, and 60 ml in the cologne splash. I think I might need more though. Great review Ramsey.
Thanks Eddie I really appreciate the kind words and support... I think even though some of Russian Adams creations arent my style... the ones that I love are really amazing & I respect him as a perfumer & creator... that says a lot ... plus he gets to work with some of the most amazing materials 😊
@@RamseytheRam please try to get a sample of Carven homme it’s discontinued and really hard to find. Its carven homme not carven pour homme, pour homme version is totally different perfume. Carven homme used be my signature scent back in days.
After a year and many more areej samples in your collection has your take on it changed somewhat? Do you still think its not worth full bottle? How does it compare to history of attar collection in "full bottle worthiness" in your opinion? Thanks!
Yes I would probably go for a full bottle of Civet de nuit if I could get it for half price... i would probably take civet de nuit over most of the history of attar collection BUT i really liked Beauty and the beast 🌹
The name Civet kept me from jumping in to buy a bottle right away. I do like animalics but not an animalic bomb. You’re right, that’s what I thought. He shouldn’t have named it Civet. I came to RU-vid for reviews of Civet to see if I’d like it . I own very lil Areej fragrances. They sell out so fast and it’s very hard to track down samples. I wanted to buy a bottle of Antiquity from someone but before shelling out the big bucks, I wanted to smell it first. Just a 1 ml sample was $85. And I assumed I would be crazy about it coz of all the reviews. Well I wasn’t. It’s nice, very nice. But not a love for me. So I’m not buying the Antiquity bottle for $700. I would have to be crazy about it to pay that much for any fragrance. But that’s me. A lot of ppl love it .
Antiquity is one of the samples Russian Adam sent me so I will be doing a first impression soon... thanks so much for watching & commenting & welcome to my small but humble channel! Its good to see a new face around here 😊
Ok. I saw bal a Versailles and am watching again....please please work on the french pronunciation. It is so simple to ask Google how and they TELL you. You will catch on very fast and then you can keep me as a subbie. 💋
Ok here is the deal I am a Texan 🤠 what that means is we pronounce words different ... my subs are here for the content I provide on the juice... not an elocution lesson.. I am going to try and work on my pronounciation but not to keep you as a sub, just because I generally want to be the best version of myself as I can be... stay or leave but enough with the accent thing.. everyone knows what fragrance I was referring to when I said Bal à Versailles... if it is so bad you cant understand me that is different ... but if you are going to stick around drop the word act... not just for me but other subs and watchers of the channel now know & refer to you as the crazy word lady.. I havent blocked you because that isnt my thing but if it helps you sleep at night understand I am working on my pronounciation... thank you!
@@RamseytheRam I love it! Not one more peep. It wasn't about bal a Versailles. It wasn't even critique. You speak with such reverence about scent I just felt all that was missing is respect of the words. Of course like almost all the beautiful things, c'est Francais.....fashion food and Fragrance...
