Amazing video. Whoever mixed sound on this video, knows what's He doing. We could hear engine and exhaust trough whole video, which is something all of us looking for.
Excellent review, mate. We currently have this beauty in our work shop so we've got some after market accessories on the way for this model. - Bash plate/engine guard - side luggage system - radiator guard - rear luggage rack. :)
Nicely done review. I considered one of these but ended up buying the Honda NX which I'm quite pleased with. The CF Moto might be more off road capable though. That doesn't bother me too much..the Honda's OK with lighter, gravel road sort of stuff and I'm happy with that. I think the NX motor's a bit less stressed. Lower compression ratio etc. I think that might help with motor longevity and the service intervals as more satisfactorily spaced as well.
This is like a mini Yamaha Tenere 700 / Aprilia Tuareg 660. The 450/500 "single" manufacturers are going to struggle against this if it proves to be reliable and well supported by a good dealer network.
13 kg lighter than the T7 and a lot less power. Much heavier than a ktm500 exc, or ktm 690, crf300 etc, the biggest advantage of the cf Moto is price and that’s its main selling point- it’s no light weight enduro bike
@@onerider808I had an oil pump fail in a uforce 1000 and locked the engine up. In a weeks time they had a new engine at the dealer and was put in 3 days later. They asked precisely 0 questions. I was without my machine for 3 weeks. Customer service is just fine darling
What makes it ‘Entry Level’? Seems like a sensible bike for anyone to ride to me. I ride an AJP P7, which by your logic is ‘Pro Level’. Looks like this CF does exactly the same as the AJP and can go a lot further doing it.
I've had my Z900 for 6 years now and have been looking for a second bike. I've never had an adventure bike before, but I did go off road with a colleague's bike and I love it. RE 450 seems like a good deal but it would be a big adjustment for me to go from inline 4 to a single. 😂 I'd definitely go for a test ride at my local CF Motor in Melbourne. Thanks for the video.
@Mademototrip We have the same bike too? Whoa. I did look at the Z900RS but couldn't justify to pay extra 5-6K for a daily commuter that I won't be cleaning every day. My plan is the Z900 as daily commuter and an entry level ADV like CFmoto 450MT. Later on is an electric with at least 10 kWh battery as daily commuter and perhaps a larger ADV by then.
192 kg wet claimed. You'd need to take the bike to your local refuse station (recycle station) & put it on the weigh bridge to confirm it's weight. It certainly didn't feel like 200 kg as that was the weight of my Himalayan.
I don’t know about calling it “light weight”. Light weight is ktm 500exc. Heavy weight might be super tenere 1200. This would therefore be middle weight. My 1200 ninja with 200hp back in year 2000 weighed the same as this “lightweight” today. My xr600 with 45hp weighed 140kg back in the 90s. So 450mt is not really lightweight. But if calling it lightweight makes you happy, I’m happy for you 😅
@@ShinzouWoSateSateSate well, not really. For instance, the Honda crf300 rallye is 150 odd kilos and does everything the 450mt can. It even costs the same
I was looking into the service intervals and found that a lot of things are routine like oil and air filter, chain etc. Valves are 24000 miles tho. As is the BSA Goldstar
About the overly sensitive fueling, I've seen on another channel of a guy also from Australia that adjusting the throttle cable play mostly fixes the issue.
I test rode one of these and honestly don't see the hype. There seems to be a lot of happy owners which is good but I also feel like they haven't ridden many other bikes to compare this to. Sure, it might be good value but that doesn't mean it's actually a good bike.
@@TheDowness If you want to buy something new around 10K that's considered an adventure bike. Ready to go almost out of the box, there isn't a whole lot of competition. That said, if anybody is considering this bike, ride a Tenere 700. Yes it's more expensive but there are clean used examples out there.
You get what you are paying for plus few nice surprises, that was my feeling after the test ride. Not many new bike give you that sort of feeling now days.
Good video. Did you consider the RE Himalayan 452? A mate bought it and loves it. He also had one of these on order and cancelled this when he could get RE earlier. Both seem great bikes for the money in their class.
Have you tried to adjust the throttle cable from the handlebar? Maybe they don't come perfectly balanced in that regard and that's the jerkiness that you and everybody feel, if you've had experience with other bikes, it should be identifiable.
DJ I have the CL-c 450 and adjusted my cable, it helps but it’s still twitchy unfortunately. Fine at higher speeds but hard to modulate around town in lower speeds. I find going a lower gear and revving makes it easier but not ideal.
@@MademotoADV look up a vid on throttle tamers, that will be the fix you can get plastic ones for around $30 with 5 cams to give different throttle feel👌 thes lads had me looking 😀
It puts out similar power & torque & even weight to a KLR650 . But it seems more manageable & flickable . I guess the new twin cylinder engine carries the weight lower?
CFMoto will NEVER address the mapping issues, that's because you are riding a motor by KTM which was meant to be in the Duke 490 and since it's part of the Duke family, it follow BS6 emissions standards which is why it's jerky and has throttle lag. The only way to fix it is to buy a O2 Sensor mod or a piggy back ECU like one from RapidBike. You'll have to wait til RapidBike gets hold of one of these bikes for them to release a update for their RapidBike Easy (O2 Sensor mod) or the RapidBike Evo (Piggy back ECU). I'm glad I cancelled my order for the CFMoto 450MT since lots of reviews report it having the same throttle lag/jerkiness issues. I have a Duke 390 so I know all bout it. On a better note I'll probably end up getting a CFMoto 800 MT-X instead of this.
i can literally hear and see that poor fueling just through this video, the way youre dragging the clutch proves that point. im sure they will release a software update as ive heard many people complain about this issue
Didn't even notice I was dragging the clutch that much -- that to be said, I learnt this simi-engage cluth action from my days with the old Ducati Monster...
@@MademotoADV They cannot do anything to fix the problem, it will need an aftermarket map loaded into the ECU as they are tuned to meet emissions, the very lean fueling at low revs (likely coupled with a fuel cut at fully closed throttle) makes them snatchy in on/off throttle application. It's a common problem across the majority of modern bikes. On the bright side, you'll need to map it if you change the exhaust to something a bit more free flowing so it's worth saving up to do both things at once (I know a few places are currently developing maps) ;-)
Nice review.. thanks, Can you please elaborate on what modifications or addons are needed for serious off-road ? . what stopped you from ordering one ? and.. please share your helmet brand and model.. thanks again.
@@MademotoADV If you want to ride anything where you're likely to bottom out on a rock or want to hop logs you'll need to upgrade the bashplate... B&B are finalising their design currently, it looks very good and has added support to avoid relying solely on the stock mounting tabs. Another thing to consider is a high front guard if you ever ride mud (especially clay) as knobby tyres pack with mud and jam up on low guards.
@@racebiketuner Depends what sort of off-road you want to do and how much mixed riding you do. The 690 is a prick on the highway, this thing isn't suited for single track... Horses for courses. Not to mention the 690 costs twice as much!
hi bro, beginer rider here, i am torn beetwen new cfmoto450mt for 6000usd , or used himalayan 411 2022 with only 1000kms for 4000 usd .. I love the look of himi, i am only concered about power, will it be fun for ride .. Thanks
Almost 200 kg aint really lightweight might as well just get the tenere 700 or the tuareg 660 since it's nearing it's weight class. The ktm 390 adventure then is light
A few things to consider... It's $9.5k, that's priced way below anything equipped this well and making things of a lighter material costs extra $$. The Tenere 700 is claimed to be 205kg but it's a slightly larger engine, and twice the price. There's very little else to compare it to in the market, most of the other small capacity "ADV" bikes are built like toys.
Because it's not normal.. It's because it has ride by wire and BS6 emissions standards, the other bike that has that in the class is the Duke 390 which has this same issue , KTM also designed the motor for the 450-MT. It was meant to be in the cancelled Duke 490. The only fixes for it is to get a O2 sensor mod or a piggy back ECU like the RapidBike Easy or RapidBike Evo.
@@geertwanten1841 because why would you ride around with shit fuelling when it could be smooth right off idle? My fz6 had terrible low rpm fuelling, exu flash mad it butter smooth. Safer and nicer
Anyone comparing this to t7 is just clueless... It first has to endure 5-10 years of dirt riding and on road without major issues... Then you can start comparing it to a t7 and the cp2 engine. I have no doubt in my mind that this engine will not be as reliable as the cp2. Infact the cp2 in Tenere is one of theee most reliable engines ever built by a human. Chinese quality, maybe can be archieved, but chinese customer service is just horrendous beyond imagination. Long ways to go for cfmoto
Just when C MOTO gets going electric bikes Will put them in the back again.. japanese bike companies are focusing on battery power gas is coming to the end.... All the other companies that are getting into E power are getting started when E Moto is going gas....and that's the wrong Way to go......
Obviously you don't ride enduro. You have a bad position on the motorcycle. I dont know how you could test this bike on the lawn and describe it as offroad?!
Thank you for your honesty. The training in off-road school, helped me a lot, off-road driving training is organized in Poland. I recommend such training, it gives you self-confidence and safety.
