Another excellent ship kit review Jason. I enjoyed watching/listening while working on my Tirpitz project. I too am using an Artwox wood deck. VERY pleased with it. Of course I'm having to cut it up in a bunch of places to make the Tirpitz corrections to the Trumpeter Bismarck kit. Remind me how to find the link you told me back a couple months ago so I can send you some picts of my project. I would really like to get your take on my approach to this (to make sure my brain hasn't slipped off the track). Have a great rest of your week.
Hi Jason, very nice first impression video. For such an old kit, it looks pretty good. You have some great aftermarket for this. I'm sure it will look great when you build it. It would have been cool to place the hull of this kit next to your QM2 build for a size comparison. Thanks for sharing. Jeff
Great video Jason. I'm looking forward to see if you progress this build. I agree totally about the base kit. I have the 1/400 Heller Richelieu (from 1969) and it holds its own very well by modern standards. I believe it is also more accurate than the 1/350 Trumpeter kit. The 20mm Oerlikons are surprisingly finely moulded. Have you tried Shipyard Works self adhesive decks? I used them on the 1/350 Trumpeter Roma and they fitted perfectly. The sheets include the decks for the many launches and lifeboats.
