I Honestly also hype and see how everyone growth after the 1st game i just finished ryza yesterday and kinda Already miss all the characters and curios how they're doing
I can't wait for this to come out!!!! I preordered the collectors edition for PS4 and the standard edition for the Switch, double dipping on physical copies for this one! And I am also excited to see An Atelier game on my PS5.
as if they made this game for me! I'm such an exploration junkie. more precisely: I am obsessed with exploration! I just HAVE to go anywhere and find anything (my usual playtime in such games is therefore double the average). and Ryza is such a sunshine. her joyfulness is such a bliss! this could very well be my last PS4 game. can`t think of a better way to end that era!
Atelier Ryza was my first Atelier game because i listened to your videos. So i liked it enough to pick the second one. I felt it was more of an easy game compared to most JRPG. Once you nail down the crafting/synthesis it was pretty much in the bag
Great video. Just preordered today. Looking forward to hanging out with Ryza again, and I’m really excited for all the reunions. The OST is on another level. Been listening to it for the past month.
Saw on Twitter your little updates regarding Ryza 2 and it has he hyped even more ! It looks like a true sequel that just improves on so much from the original and adds several nuances that make it feel fresh as well, looking forward to this for sure ! Thanks for all you do Tara :) such a gem of a channel truly !
Thank you for sticking around! :3 I’m always happy to see your comments pop up! And yes, it seems like a sequel that adds just the right amount so far and I honestly can’t wait to play more ^__^
My favourite moment so far was when I fell off one of the cliffs in the first area and I didn’t hit a wall. The lack of Invisible walls is making me so proud of gust
I will keep an eye on Ryza 2. I couldn't finish the first one due to the battle-system being too fast and wrecking me too often, but I've been charmed by the world and characters and I want to support the development of more games like this.
also grind some better items. if you focus on the synthesis, you can stomp all the enemies. for example, i made weapons and armor and items just before the first dragon that let me one-shot it on hard and proceed to beat every battle for the rest of the game on hard... just from synthesizing well once in the first half of the game. (you do have to grind a second time if you want to beat all the superbosses on legendary difficulty, but it's not necessary for beating the game).
Right now I'm still playing the first game, trying to max out all my items and gear for a possible NG+ It really took some time to get into the alchemy system, but once in clicks, it's truely amazing. Could possibly put another 20 hours into it, just by crafting stuff, lol. I also think Ryza is one of the switches most commendable ports. Runs really well and looks great. Glad to see Ryza 2 will offer a similar experience, while looking even better. Soooo, seems great, that this releases just before my birthday :3
I recently finished Ryza 1 and enjoyed it so I’m looking forward to the sequel. My only complaint about Ryza 1 is the slow pacing in the beginning, so I hope things pick up faster in Ryza 2.
Thanks for the review. Hoping to get this game at my local GameStop, maybe a few days after it comes out. Love JRPGs especially any title developed or co-developed by Gust.
Most gamestops probably won't carry any stock on Ryza 2. My local gamestops only carry extra on the big name games, so I find preordering or buying from Amazon to be the only way to get these games.
@@buckroger6456 If that’s the case then I’ll just wait until it’s on sale on the EShop. There’s plenty of other games I’m interested in this year like Persona 5 Strikers and Shin Megami Tensei 5 whenever that’s coming out this year. Only planning on getting three games this year anyway. All for the Switch btw.
@@Tdull-tv1ds if your a digital gamer then it's not a bad idea. I myself like physical games but I know I can wait a few months and buy it on Amazon for less. I'm also looking forward to P5S.
@@buckroger6456 Understandable. Not like you have to be a digital gamer or just buy physical copies of the games you want. Either way you’re getting what you want and that’s what matters most.
I preordered the ultimate edition on my Nintendo switch I’m excited to play this as well of re zero prophecy of the throne azure lane super Mario 3d world plus bowsers fury and persona 5 strikers
I'll probably pick it up after finishing cold steel 4 but I need to finish Ryza first. Don't want to have to deal with the copy shortage again. The art style really does look beautiful and I look forward to playing something a little more lighthearted after cs4
Atelier series are interesting as i like exploring in games and see what i can find next corner. Alchemy aspect in game as well enviroment seems really nice what is making me holding back to try game is its price. 60 e + pricetag is lot to invest and that is for standard edition of this game. I personally wait for at least 50 % ale in ps store because what i have seen its most likely max that jrpg is on sale. But this is just my personal opinion i think atelier is worth to try and see if i like it. thank you for vid :)
Gust always makes some great special editions in Japan. I'm a bit of a sucker for their games and as much as I didn't like Ryza's combat and dropped the game last year I'm back to playing it now. I can't say if I'll pick up Ryza 2 on the 1st day but I'm finding myself hard pressed not to buy the game at all. I am still holding out hope that Gust will bring us a blue reflection 2 someday.
Me too always for Blue Reflection 2 haha they really do some great special editions! I just finished watching the unboxing of the Surge Concerto DX special editions on the JP Gust channel, those are incredible. I hope they make the Ryza 2 special editions available in the West (and Surge Concerto DX of course haha)
@@JRPGJungle I seen that unboxing as well. Blue Reflection still tears me up with that ending. I got into visual novel games in 2020 and found a few good ones like Raging Loop. Hoping to find some more this year. They are a nice change of pace from all the jrpgs.
@@JRPGJungle I highly recommend it and I believe it's on everything. If you like a more mature story that has some horror and Japanese folk lore then definitely check out Raging Loop. Also the art work is good, the music creates a good atmosphere, and it's fully voice acted but only in Japanese.
I got the platinum for Ryza 1 some days ago, it was my first Atelier game and I loved it. I'm looking forward to 2, but I'm concerned about the censorship on the Playstation version.
I thought the first Ryza was endearing! Is there an inventory limit in the sequel? Nothing tramples gameplay more than needing to return to the hub due to a full basket >_
I think there is a limit, but it's quite big IMO! I can't remember what it was exactly, but I was gathering awhile until I had to run back and empty my basket :3 maybe they'll do a recipe that expands your basket too (don't know yet though!) ^__^
I'd hope there will be more enemies type instead of pallette swap like in first game. I really enjoy the combat system and creating a better equipment overtime but battle kinda got stale. Anyway, whether the enemies type solved or not, i'm definitely get this game since Ryza's story is fun to experience.
Facts! I'm not a fan over bloated games myself, there needs to be a good balance. I personally prefure a short more tighter story rpg over a longer one that has a short weak story that is bloated and padded out with side quests.
I just don't understand how THE SAME CHARACTERS age 3 years, and all of a sudden "Gee, I forgot my Level 99 Alchemy level, and Level 50 Battle Level, and now I am back to Level 1 in both, even though I've been doing alchemy in the past 3 years?! I understand some people will quit the game part way through, and still buy Part 2 anyhow, so they are mid levels, etc, and some people will max out both Battle and Alchemy levels, but Gust says "Screw it, we are making them all Level 1s again!"
does it still have the system where the ai companions ask you to do random things like reduce enemy states or use ice attacks? i enjoyed the combat of the first one until later in the game and the ai started to ask me to do really specific things in order to get off the extra attacks.
Nah, I played my boyfriends copy so I should probably let him play with it now haha plus since I want to review it, I should understand as much as possible and for Ryza 2, I think I need English for that :3
Oh man 😂🤣🤣 I thought I was the only one. The one stocking, sleave, and half her yellow coat bugs the heck out of me. I wish they just gave Ryza a whole new outfit instead.
At the start, it's not really an issue if you've played 1 or not, but it seems there will be some twists later in the story that will probably hit harder if you've played 1 (and it definitely spoils some of the first one too :3). But if you like the exploration, I'd probably get 2 tbh! 2 has a lot more exploration stuff, so if you like that you might as well play that one haha your choice though, I think you can't go wrong either way ^__^ can always go back and play 1 later!
I read online that someone else was also playing the Japanese version of Ryza 2 and he said that the combat was easier compared to 1, would you say it's like that?
In terms of difficulty I think so in the sense that the UI layout helps you get to everything easier so I think I was naturally dealing out more damage because of that. In terms of enemy difficulty, I didn't get to any big bosses or anything so I don't think I had a good judge on it yet. I will say that I played on normal the whole time though where in the past I played many games (Ryza 1 included) on easy and I didn't feel any desire to change difficulty in Ryza 2. So that could say things are easier, but is just a guess tbh :3 I hope that somewhat answers your question haha
@@JRPGJungle Thank you for your answer, then it makes sense that with the improvements of the UI it makes things easier, but according to what you say I guess that it is not such a drastic change, which is what I understood from that person who said that the game was easier. I am looking forward to your review (and the release of the game ofc) you always make top quality content.
It's a little unclear at the moment, unless they talked about it in a livestream (then I probably missed it). I had a look in both the English and Japanese PSN's and the DLC doesn't seem to be available separately yet on either. Hopefully Gust or Koei announces something about it in the near future :3
If you want to get the most out of the plot, the first one is meant to make the end parts of 2 more impactful. If you’re it in mostly for thighs and the story isn’t a priority, you can start with either haha
So they gave us more ways to explore Ryza's thighs,...err game world. XD Super excited to play this too thanks for the video. I'm super hyped right now.
@@JRPGJungle OMG You replied! I really love your channel as you're not only into mainstream jrpgs. Your channel helped me alot to appreciate Blue Reflections, Dragon Star Varnir and other Underrated Gems. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
Ahhh I want to spread awareness for games like Blue Reflection wherever possible! :3 I’m really happy to hear that :) thank you for your comment and for watching :D 💖
Am I the only one who thinks Ryza is the weakest alchemist in the entire series? I'm not talking about raw power but when it comes to be an alchemist. I mean in atelier Sophie she was able to create a transportable house that can fits in her pocket, granted she had Plachta as a teacher, but I feel Sophie acomplished more as an alchemist than ryza by then end their respectives game.
It’s made to be accessible to all types of players, and enough new characters get introduced at the start where it could create a similar experience for both. In saying that, I agree with the producer in that you’ll get a deeper experience having played the first, so up to you on what you want to do! Both seem like great games IMO ^__^
They didn't spoil too much in terms of lore from the first game, but many of the main characters are grown up versions of the first game's, so you get to see how they have changed. In terms of the crafting and battling it's basically the same with some improvements here and there.
