Great looking Safety Razor

Congrats to a great razor, I hope it serves you as well as it's served me. :) I have the matte version and have had it for 15-18 years by now and it is the one I've been using the most out of all my razors, and there's a reason for that. Rockwell is a good razor but if I had to pick, the Futur 700 would be my choice and I wouldn't have to think about it. Getting BBS shaves with this one is no problem for me and even though it is an aggressive razor it's very comfortable. Yeah, it is quite big and heavy but it's not too big and heavy, the handling is actually really great. I use it on everything from 1 to max depending on the type of blade and it's condition and how my skin feels that particular day. The engineering is awesome, the loading/unloading of the blade is quick and so is the cleaning of the razor. Good luck, have fun and welcome to the Futur 700 club! :)

Congratulations with your new Futur, the logo on top is modern Futur,i`ve got one part of a four part set from the 80`s. It have some minor differences (Marks on the inside)..Mine are the satin finnish.Best razor i`ve tried so far,but you have to use it for a hvile to learn the tecnique properly :)

I'm interested in how the Futur shaves compares to the 6C and Fatboy.

Just tried the Merkur blade that came with my Merkur Futur it's no where near as sharp as I expected this is my first Safety Razor. I will be trying Bic and Wilkinson sword next. The Futur is polished quality of my £700 Seiko watch

Going to be a great comparison to Rockwell 6c

I've been contemplating getting this razor for a few years. I've heard how aggressive it is which is what has put me off. I'll be interested to see what you think of it once you've face shaved. Great video as always ! (from Australia)

I appreciate your video. At present, I'm using the Merkur 23C. I prefer a razor that has a long handle. I'm considering purchasing a Futur myself, so may I offer a suggestion that I heard from another user. When selecting a different setting, be careful when you hold it the way you are showing. If by any chance the razor head slips in your hands (turns), the blade will cut your fingers. So please be careful. He suggested to hold the head with a towel as you turn the handle. I have that same chrome finish Futur razor and for me the setting 5 or 4.5 is as equal to the R41 razor aggressiveness. For your skin I suggest you to go on setting 4

Gonna be good. I bought a qshave Chinese clone of the futur before ordering the original just to see if I like it. Even with the imperfections on the Chinese one I had good shaves with it. Pretty sure you will like it

I heard it’s a very aggressive razor, maybe too aggressive for most people but I see the idea behind it!

I retired the Futur a couple of years ago. The size of the head is too chunky for my taste. And made shaving under my nose tricky. Also the coating (on the head where it touches the skin) started to rub off after only 1 1/2 year of use.

i have been using Merkur Futur since 2017, and i didnt realize how sharp (in a bad way) and close it is to my skin (I shave on setting 3 then dail down to 1 on second pass ) until i got rockwell 6c i will not use it ever again.

I bought Chinese replica. Terrible razor.

I keep wanting to like that razor but I just can’t past how ugly it is Of course looks are subjective but wow…ugly.
