I can only imagine how much crud is on that sensor. I don't know why RU-vidrs feel the need to take the lens off and show us the sensor. Especially with the power on.

Same with expensive lenses. They rarely have any lens cap on when they show it. Atleast have one on the side that mounts on the camera.

I get this all the time! I'm not too worried about it TBH. I keep a blower in my bag, and, in the very worst case, we have the means back at the office to give it a proper clean. It's not the chip that's getting debris on it anyways, it's a layer of strong protective glass, meant to be cleaned!

You guys are too pedantic about camera sensors and lenses. Many photographers don't use any lens caps in their bags as well as keeping camera sensors exposed for a minute or two. I myself run with a GFX, Z, and X-series cameras (so from APS-C to MF) and it's not that big of a deal having the sensor exposed for a bit. No need to baby cameras and lenses as long as you use common sense.

@@enshongmiranda sure if you dont care about image quality. There is always dust and moisture in the air. Also sunlight can damage the sensor, especially without a lens infront of it. Modern cameras are often worth thousands of dollars. Common sense would be to take care of it and having a lens cap on is minimum effort. It costs nothing to keep a lens cap on and you gain nothing from having the sensor and glass exposed. I never had to clean the sensor on any of my cameras, because I dont introduce such unnecessary failure points in the first place.

I see a lot of people excited for this camera and I literally don't see why. It's got specs that bring it up to date with maybe the s5ii that released a year ago but missing a lot of features that would make it a tool instead of simply a recreational camera. Not to say theres anything wrong with that - but there's a lot to sacrifice in my opinion simply to have a more aesthetic camera. This coming from a guy who owns a Nikon FM and enjoys that vintage vibe and feel. The lack of grip is really just a deal breaker for me. Anything above a light, compact lens is going to be very uncomfortable to hold for any length of time. Maybe the apsc version makes more sense here with its lighter lenses, or if youre only using vintage glass and MF. From a pure technical standpoint, there's nothing that would make this worth more money than an s5ii right now unless you were really relying on a specific Nikon mount lens for your shooting - and then I'd be looking to immediately buy an aftermarket grip to make it more wieldy.

Such a better tool than the s5II. The ability to mount all types of glass, the build quality, design/build quality, ibis, multishot and manual focus eye detect tools are unbeatable. The ergos are easily solved and also is optional making it more compact when needed.

@@D.Trider the s5ii has more ergonomic build, ui, button layout, fully weather sealed, etc. This review described the zf as plasticky and not exactly confidence inspiring. I don't claim to know how good the IBIS of the zf is in real life comparisons but the s5ii beat out the Sony and Canon competitors. The s5ii can adapt Nikon f and canon ef (the latter it does with full AF-C pretty much on par with Canon itself). It can adapt any vintage lens really and has native Leica, sigma, Lumix and soon to be Samyang lenses. It has high res mode that can be shot handheld up to 96mp, live composite mode, wave forms, c4k, 6k open gate, unlimited recording, the x gives you raw recording including braw, synchroscan, shutter angle, shooting in 48fps, full sized HDMI, x has recording to SSD, through live LUT you can get false colors, anamorphic desqueeze, and the list goes on. Nikon gets a little better burst performance and access to excellent but expensive z glass. The eye detect MF looks nifty but s5ii has MF assist tools that are really easy to use as well with dedicated focus joystick. You can get an s5ii for hundred cheaper than a zf - especially used.

Nice any big differences between THE ZF and ZFC?
@mandingo9471

No. They both shoot pictures and videos. The only difference you’ll notice is the price tag.
@lensprotogo
@lensprotogo 7 месяцев назад
The biggest difference is the sensor size I'd day (full frame vs APS-C) But also: handling. The Z Fc is considerably smaller and I recall having a hard time finding a comfortable grip on it
