I was actually complaining to the BBC online here in Britain about 4 years ago as they had some online article about Pune - and as is typical of the British - they showed a picture of slums which were totally unrepresentative of the real city [just as they show that Dharavi slum as an image of Mumbai]. They did respond and changed the image and I forwarded to them the then just-published reports about Utsa Patnaik's research estimating the amount that the British looted from India at about $45 Trillion.
Except for the power cuts. They are the worst of any major Tier 1/Metro city I've been in India, and I've lived for a decent bit in all 8. I mean it wasn't a daily thing, nor was it super extensive, but still quite noticeable for a Tier 1 city. And I was in Pune for almost 4 months, and live 2 months each in posh residential localities in KP & Baner, which was quite shocking. There are hardly any power cuts ever even in Tier 2 or 3 towns in Gujarat, which is why I found it even more shocking due to this happening in 2nd largest city of Maharashtra. Mumbai hardly has any power cuts ever. Not sure about the situation in Nagpur, Nashik, or rest of MH.
@@siddharthmehta6220 sitting in Amadavad reading your comment and smiling cuz we had a power cut earlier during daytime today for good 3 hrs....!! But I do agree the roads in Gujarat are somewhat better as of now and MH is catching up due to our own Gadkariji.
Pune is associated with greatest Indian king Shivaji Maharaj who saved India and Indian culture from getting destroyed at the hands of most cruel ruler in human history Aurangzeb.
Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born at Shivneri Fort in Pune. He spent his childhood in Lalmahal which is right next to Shaniwarwada. Rajgad fort in Pune was the first capital of Maratha empire for 25 years. Peshwas were servants of him and his descendants. 1st fort won by Ch Shivaji Maharaj was Torna fort in Pune. The fort Kondhana shown in Movie Tanhaji is at the border of Pune City.
servants?? that's so much disrespect, pshwas were the prime minister or pantpradhan for shivaji maharaj, saying servants, shows so much hate @@sanketj8724
@@surajjadhav7827 The way people call them servants isn't respectful, why can't they call them as prime minister's?? they purposely do it due to hate towards their caste, it's the harsh reality
If you are in Maharashtra then don't forget to visit Kailasa Temple in Ellora Cave. The Kailasa temple at Ellora was, constructed during the 8th century under the rule of King Krishna I of the Rashtrakuta dynasty. This astonishing temple was carved entirely out of a single rock, vertically excavated from top to bottom. It's believed that it took several generations of craftsmen to complete this monumental task. The temple is a marvel due to its sheer scale and intricate detailing. It's not just a single structure; it's an entire complex featuring numerous halls, shrines, pillars, and sculptures. The incredible craftsmanship and architectural precision displayed in the carvings, which include depictions from Hindu mythology, make it one of the most impressive rock-cut temples in India.
@@manh9105 Mythology refers to a collection of stories, legends, or tales that often explain the origins of a culture, its beliefs, rituals, gods, and heroes. These stories were passed down orally or through written traditions and played a significant role in shaping the worldview and values of different societies throughout history.

Please stop mentioning our folklores and stories as myths/mythology. They are true and should be mentioned as facts. What westerners don't believe in , they call it as mythology.
You have done it again ! Thanks for the great food tour of Pune ! India is blowing my mind. Thanks for the fun you bring. Guys , I love it. ,! Happy travels 😊😊😊
@14:35 As per the old vehicle scrapping policy, all the old vehicles private or government owned must be scrapped after 15 years.. those are (probably) confiscated during traffic raids.. Govt have the authority to scrap them but don't have the authority to dismantle them... Loopholes in law... So they rot till eternity... 😅😅
Welcome to historical city of India Welcome pune city. Have good treat of pune Welcome to . India. People are very kind Give this good message to your country. That will help our country to encourage more tourists and currency. Jai hind.
Yes - I was just watching a video by some Dutch-woman from Bali Janine Freuling [with her fellow Dutch female vlogger] claiming that they felt unsafe in Old Delhi so left without visiting Chandni Chowk market. She refers to a 'guy with a gun' on the street evoking images of some American (or perhaps Czech - European] mass shooter terrorizing folk. In fact it was just an Indian policeman in clear police khaki uniform and cap etc. walking on the pavement staring at his mobile phone with a rifle strapped across his back - whom they passed in their tuktuk!
@@Rudraksh-ql4ce This Janine character, though very nice and friendly towards India and Indians generally - seems like one of those Narcissist female vloggers who are just obsessed with showing themselves as is so common. As a person brought up in Britain, I can tell you that in Europe Janine would be considered a very mediocre-looking woman with a mis-shapen nose who would not turn any heads. Yet because she has blonde hair and blue eyes she gets unceasing attention - sometimes going a bit too far - from Indian peasants who have rarely seen a blonde before - hence feels paranoid.
Welcome to Pune! Hope you have Durvankur or Durvankur Thali on your list , you should not miss that. And Icecream shake drink called Mastani at Sujata.
Omg you guys went to Toit! It’s my all time favourite! Love their beers. Great to see you followed my recommendation. :) Try Tsuki in KP for pan Asian food. It’s fine dining. Superb sushi! If you want to try something local and authentic South Indian food go to Vaishali (FC Road) or Irani Cafe for Iranian food.
They can express and show. Basically Food for Indians is Complete Solution the way goes into ❤ ..spice,sour sweet testless are common and beyond Indian Intestines
ShaniwarWada was 7 storied high before it was destroyed in fire. Not sure if it was by normal accident or British burnt it down. You may get Banglore vibes in Pune as it also has a major IT industry. Pune is actually elder sister of Mumbai by age. But Mumbai is much bigger in size. Still Pune is better and more livable than Mumbai(Its favorite topic of hot debates between Mumbaikars and Punekars)
Hey guys...you need to try Balewadi High Street in Pune...one of the most happening places..you have good cafes and pubs ..just amazing place...it's really a HIGH STREET as name suggests
Must try places in Pune: Elephant & Co, High Spirits for a great party, Paasha (a rooftop restaurant) at JW Marriott hotel, Barometer, Kothrud area for a scrumptious dinner, PVR Pavilion Mall for a great shopping experience! Welcome to my hometown! :)❤
The most unique thing about Pune is its horse racing and ranching culture. There are numerous horse ranches and racing activities throughout the city. I myself enrolled in one of those during my stay there, unfortunately I couldn't complete my riding sessions because I had my first ever chicken pox on the 9th day. I would someday go back and complete my lessons , it was very cheap, 2700 INR for 3 weeks back in 2014. Nowhere in India you would get that level of access, as horse riding is limited to either ultrarich or the military or police or the tour guides and similar people in India.
Hello European friends. Eventhough India is Hindu majority country, Have u observed that when u wish Namaste, the Hindu would respond. The Muslims won't feel comfortable to reply/ respond. They wish muslims to wish muslims .... Assalamalaikom. Anyway don't bother about them, just wish Namaste or Namaskar. After all, you are in India. From Malaysia.

I like your videos and especially about india and exploring it thoroughly , and i appreciate that and we need more videos about other countries to keep exploring 😇, and also don't forget to show us royal england and its beautiful landscape. thank you😃
Awesome vlog folks! So happy you explored some parts of Pune, there's lot more and Pune never fails to pleasantly surprise you as there's so much here for everyone! Try exploring some of the Forts around, and trek a bit, you'll surely enjoy it. Among good touristy spots close to Pune are Lonavla/Khandala and Mahabaleshwar (may be a bit crowded due to Holiday season). Enjoy your trip and keep us posted, Cheers!!!
What do think was your favorite street food in Maharashtra.? Favorite go to beer besides Kingfisher ? One suggestion if it's not too much to ask for. What are some of the ingredients if you know are in the foods that you ate ? Great video Guys. Hugs🫂 and Kisses💋 from Harriet, Jim and Yuki Richmond, Va. MERRY CHRISTMAS🎄🎄
Speciality of Garden wadapaw is they offer chilly which is bit sour but not spicy 😊 They slit green chilly and remove seeds. They mix it with lemon slices and cook in pressure cooker. Sour taste gets added in chilly and chilly gets soft. Taste is lovely. They serve with wada paw.
its nice to see you guys again from the philippines, funnily enough i was in thailand for a few days and just got back home, i saw your videos being played in a tv channel when i turned on the tv in the hotel room and even funnier - the video had nothing to do with thailand, it was you guys in romania or bucharest or something, talking about how you liked the burrata
Raja kelkar museum of medieval arrifacts is walk away from shaniwar wada .hardly any tourists know about this three storied marvel charting the history of maratha empire and aome older items. With more time you could go in treks . Its fort country with hundreds of forts
Along with wadapav, you must have got crunchy stuff. While frying wada ( patty ) some particles of gram flour batter seperate and the balls get fried well.. They dry up those fried balls and grind in mixer with dried fried garlic, red chilly powder..that makes a crunchy powder. Which is served as side dish with wada pav 😊
Welcome to Pune 😃💖 There is seperate line for ladies for Garden Vada Pav 🙂 Also try taak (buttermilk with it) It’s yummy and crunchy with Chura! Also most millionaires live in Koregaon Park Pune ❤
It's not just a place; it's a rollercoaster ride where every day feels like a surprise party, and the chaos is just a prelude to the next adventure. Seems like a great place to hangout and enjoy the city and the honking of the cars while eating your food.
Garden Wadapav is one of the brand famous here. Recipe : Take some oil, add curry leaves, green chilly paste, add smashed potatoes, add turmeric, ginger garlic paste. We get the inner stuffing. We make batter of gram flour. Dip potato patty in batter and fry in oil. So you get wada 😊

it was better till 2010. till then it was like Navi Mumbai of today. after 2010 it became overpopulated and did not remain cosmopolitan, nightlife lost its charm, hippie culture got bastardized, and Bollywood took over
Marz O Rin thing to have is is chutney sandwich and not grilled cheese sandwich. Wrong information. Maybe the last who recommended that is not from Pune 😅😅😅
The green chutney was mint chutney mixed with maybe butter and a lil chili. You should have tried a meat samosa instead of the veg one which you get almost everywhere.
