Love the vids Adam, is it now that all MY to UK are shipped from Tesla Gigafactory Berlin? So close to ordering but having seen your vids, prefer a Berlin built model. Guess it’s Tesla, so no guarantees 😂
Yes, i believe they should all be Berlin’s finest take on the Model Y. You can tell when you are assigned a VIN. It should start with XP7. You can also see this in the url if your looking at inventory models 👍
That’s great news, you’ll find that’s just the start for Tesla’s simple and convenient approach from the buying experience to driving experience. Let me know how you get on?
@@engdatum No guarantee on the price, especially not at 0% APR right now. The stalkless is a total killer for me. In the UK, I live in a constant chain of roundabouts, stalkless would make indicating a nightmare.
I’ve just ordered my Model Y as my second car. I’ve gone for the Pearl white standard colour which everyone has moaned at me for and called me cheap. However, I also own a black Range Rover which is an absolute nightmare to keep clean so despite it not being my colour of choice, for ease, I am embracing the pearly white 😂
Hi Adam congrats on new mod y. I live in Spain and bought mine Dec 2022 one of the first in Spain no problems with build quality superb car. I am 72 and spent a long time in Uk with a car sales business have been a petrol head since helping my dad in his motor cycle shop aged 6.i have driven and owned some fabulous cars, nothing comes close ro my Tesla chris
Thank you for your comment. It’s a great endorsement if you’ve been round cars all your life. They really are something special these teslas. Bums in seats, and the car sells itself. Are you thinking of upgrading soon?
@@AdamWellinformed I plan to upgrade early next year and will buy another mod y Keep up the good work the information you provide is so much more useful than opinions from other countries
Excellent review! I sold my TM3 2021 fremont and took delivery of a brand new blue TMY LR 2024 from Berlin in june. I have the exact same experience as you. The seats, the noise, the ride...etc. Everything is improved compared to old TM3. I also noticed the lighting in the trunk is waaay better! That small led-light fitted in the trunk lid is quite something! 😊
It’s more of a red tint when you look at the side repeaters. Mine definitely came with the HW4 hardware. As did my neighbour who picked up a couple weeks ago 👍
@@AdamWellinformed mine was manufactured in march-april in Berlin according to the VIN. It appears they began hw4 on mid may-models. Kinda sucks if it has hw3 on a brand new car. It has three cameras in the front windshield. It believe hw4 has only two cameras.
@Kro3627 It has three camera holes but one is not an active camera. Another way to tell is apart from the red tint is to check the indicator light strip on the side repeater. It’s ever so slightly shorter on HW4 vehicles over HW3. Can find a comparison screenshot on google to help 👍
Thanks for the video, it’s perfect timing as I’m expecting a RWD collection next week, also from Berlin, unfortunately they removed the home connector since July, who know what else they remove? I asked the sales/delivery rep to provide a full list of accessories to come with the vehicle they simply said they can’t… I’m thinking about the following: - roadside emergency kit - paint protection prefitted they both seem to be present on your car. Btw nice plate number, reminds me of “ Best friend 24, Love” 😉
Thanks, Adam! New site member and your videos are great! I also just watched your more recent video about “why you should NOTwait on the Juniper Model Y” and I am now changing my mind about waiting. While I do like the nicer interior on the sneak peak Junipers (no tacky wood paneling) I am not sure the other extras make it worth the wait (not to mention the financial incentives). Questions: you mentioned the Berlin factory….is there any way a customer can specify Berlin made vs. China made? Also, if I move forward with ordering a 2024 Model Y now, will it be “latest” model Y or one that was made in 2022 that’s been sitting on the lot somewhere that does not have the latest computer upgrades? Thanks again for your excellent reports! Dave in Atlanta (USA)
Hey, thank you for your warm words 👍 As a customer in the US. You will be designated a vehicle from Giga Texas or Fremont. The way you can find out where it is built is via the vehicle VIN. This is assigned to you when a car has been designated to you following an order. The first 3 characters of the vin will confirm its location. Berlin for me was XP7. I’d expect yours to be 5JY or 7SA. But yes, you will get one of the latest ones! Tesla’s new car inventory last reported, is about a months worth of orders, so there should be no concerns about being given an old one by mistake. Have you considered a test drive?
Great video Im just not sure about the fat M3 look of the Y! I love my M3LR '22 but the lack of storks on new one weirdly really puts me off! Not to be too rude but was the trade in price of your old M3 from Tesla and was it better than you hoped?
That’s a perfectly valid opinion, if you’re buying a new car you want that look back factor to it. Not rude at all dude, if you look at my video from last week I breakdown my trade-in quotes that I got. As Tesla ran a trade-in booster, so my model 3 trade-in jumped £1.5k-£2k. I literally snapped their hands at it as you’d expect 😂 Model Y has the stalks still if you prefer “old school” tesla indication.
@@AdamWellinformed Thanks for the reply pal, looking forward to more Y vids. Your channel is the reason I bought a M3 and now my bank account is already worried again 😂👍🚗
You should not judge that before a test drive. All you have now is an imagination what stalk less driving looks like. But I did a test drive and after four roundabouts it was no problem at all. And normal turns are much better with the indicator on the steering wheel. The gear shift on the display now is much more intuitive and takes much less time. Don't judge what you don't know.
Thank you for your video. Do you know if the model Y long-range AWD quicksilver color is also made in Germany? Does your car come with an acceleration boost for free? (I read that the last versions had this feature already)
You’re most welcome. Having looked at some of the pre-configured models on Tesla’s website in quicksilver, there are some Berlin Model Ys available. That said it seems like there has been a batch from China in different colours, so it looks like the UK is getting a mixture. Acceleration boost is available for the rwd Model Y. That said domestic china get a different motor enabling a faster 0-60 time but I don’t think thats available anywhere else.
Hi Adam, Thanks for this video I have been pondering over the Model Y vs 3 I test drove both but I didnt test drive a Berlin Y, Is the door material in the lower parts now soft like in the highland 3? Also does the RWD still come with the premium audio system? Thanks!
Yes it 100% has premium audio in the RWD Model Y. By the lower parts are you referring to the door bins and the where the seat belt sits in the rear? If so, yes I address this as well as cabin noise in my video last week 👍 The carpet now runs a lot higher in the boot now. Goes higher then the buttons now 👍
@@AdamWellinformed Thanks for confirming the premium sound system is banging 😆I was referring to the lower door cards below the wood trim, in the highland model 3 they are soft presumably to help with sound absorption instead of "scratchy plastic" is that the case with ther Berlin build? I see they have now introduced the Model Y RWD Long range on the continent im hopeing that appears here soon within a couple of £k of the RWD price. Also is there lighting in the door cards as well as the footwells at night? Appreciate you looking into this :) Also would be great to see your comparison to the highland 3 in terms of refinement seems like Berlin builds are a step up!
I'm wondering if the double glass windows on the back are a Berlin exclusive. All previous videos I've seen of Xangai/Fremont builds had single glass panels on the back windows.
Yes it’s same as mine. CATL battery, I’ve not heard of any BYD blade variants making it’s way yet. Not sure if that’s following at some point but I like to keep tabs with it 👍
Oh I’m so glad you are enjoying your new baby. Have to say I’m jealous. Anyway, I was looking up PCP and HP and Tesla are now 0.00% apr? I thought it was 0.50%?
@@AdamWellinformed just found your vids and makes me miss the UK :) was dead set on a M32024 but worried about stalkless...then discovered they are doing time limited deal here in europe for 0% on model Y!!!! going for test drive tomorrow of the m3 and will ask about the MY at 0%
@@AdamWellinformed went really well thanks for asking! But i'm torn! I decided to test drive the Model Y simply because there is a 0% apr deal here + up to 4k tesla bonus! so this is appealing! But man - the difference between the M3 refresh & the MY was massive! Both great cars but driving the M3 just felt so good. Didn't care about the buttons for lights either - felt ok to me. Sadly, I didn't get the same feeling as with the MY - felt kinda tanky and sluggish - i felt those extra pounds it was carrying 😂 So yeh- right now i am torn on - should i grb the MY cheaper deal or just say sod it and grab the M3... with that said the extra space with the MY is tempting too (we have a kid! ) and it seems a practical good family upgrade car...! Have you had a chance to test drive the new M3 yet? If not - don't!!! You may want to get rid of the MY :p
Would have been better to compare a German Y with a Chinese Y.. I'm thinking of changing my 2024 Y for the latest model 3 which is far superior in quality.
