Thank you for doing this! It's 3 years in the future and I JUST found out about this deck randomly at my local Barnes and Noble. I sat on the floor and watched half your video and then watched the other half in my car after I bought this! It's soo good! I can't believe this item exists. It seems so specifically made for those of us who are cartomancer bibliophile literature lovers! Great video as usual, thank you! ❤

I know this is an older video, but I just wanted to say that I love your in-dept look into the cards. A flipthrough or walk through is nice just to see the cards, but I appreciate and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your approach when showing us a deck🙏🏾🤎 Whenever I wanna know about any deck, I look for your video's first and always find myself quite annoyed when I need to go elsewhere😜😂 So please keep doing it this way and take your time😁🙌🏾

Oh Kelly I adore your rambling. I also love ( and purchase) most decks that you review. .

Funny thing, I had never heard of Zora Neale Hurston before yesterday where I listened to an episode of the podcast Missing Witches on her. And then she pops up in this video today! Synchronicity! I really recommend the Missing Witches podcast if you're interested to hear about witches from all over the world throughout history (including literary and art witches). This deck looks great, I love the art and I like the concept. I agree though, it's probably best to have the big book too. Thank you for this walkthrough, I had been eagerly awaiting it after seeing you post about it on instagram the other day.

It has taken me a couple of days to get through this video, and it's GREAT. I will be watching it repeatedly. Thank you for your thoroughness and attention to detail, and to your insights. Well done!

I love watching you, every time I get a new deck I watch your unboxing and first impressions and look at the cards with you. Always hoping you have a Video made for the decks I purchased 💜

Wow. I wanted to love this but wasn't sure if I would... so was waiting for your long rambling walkthrough... and yeah, I do. And now want both the book and the deck. I don't know all these authors but I do know many and Octavia Butler is an all-time favourite. I feel like this deck will introduce me to more magical stories and love it for that.

I just got this deck today and have been loving it. I will for sure be getting the book. I'm also so glad that you pointed out how the object cards go with the authors. It probably would have taken me weeks to get there lol. I'm so excited for this deck. I think I may have to make a file with quotes and poems from the authors. And, think it's worth mentioning that I tried this deck out using a five elements spread where I pulled an author card for the spirit position and used the object cards for the other positions--that seemed to work really beautifully.

I am getting this deck and am going to use it as a reading list. Maybe draw a card and read what is on the card. Can't wait.

Thanks for sharing this. Another synchronicity: I had never heard of Anna Akhmatova, but the same day I watched your video, I was browsing in a book store and came across a new book (Cold Warriors) that includes her as a writer whose work had an impact on the Cold War! Wow. Also, I enjoy your "long and rambling" deck conversations. You bring so much value to the table in your videos. 💜☮

Joyce Carol Oates would have been such a nice addition to this deck. Thanks for the review; I've had this deck on my wishlist for awhile but wasn't sure I wanted to pre-order.

Yes, you're right and I agree with you so much. Joyce Carol Oates is so important in the literary, she's a writer so deep, gothic.

@@sibyllelerouge1799 i was floor editing she was ignored!! 🤯 I think too that a few cards are obvious……”what’s current politically” which is a shame as….well those don’t hold a candle to those that are absent like Oates.

First of all (and I apologize in advance for a surely long comment), I want to say that I absolutely adore your reviews. You have such a talent to teach and explain things, and it means a lot to me not only because deciding on a deck is quite daunting since I live in South America (Argentina, I'm super excited to see Alejandra Pizarnik in there!) and some of these are a whole investment, but also because with English not being my native language sometimes I wonder if I'll be able to fully grasp the use of some of these decks and you are such an amazing guide through them (your review of The Moon Oracle is the only one I saw that I could follow entirely). This video is another example of how incredible your take on these decks is, and even if it's an older video, I wanted to say that because wow, this is really in-depth and as someone who also studied literature, it's my favorite review of this deck I've seen. On the deck itself, I wish the guidebook included quotes from the authors' works. I understand that the book itself, the one that came before it, is primarily the poetic prose by the author on these ladies, and I think that's totally valid for the book, but for the oracle to be accessible in the moment, I wish it had included some quotes from their works, because ultimately their inclusion is because of what they wrote rather than their biographical information, if that makes sense. Ideally, I would love to read all of their work and get to the ones I don't know much about, but for the use of it as an oracle, I think including some quotes would have given a sense to their narrative voice in order to grasp them better in the moment, and the quote selection would give an idea of what the author of the deck/book intended when choosing them. Also, it would make it more accessible for those who don't have translations available of their work or who may not be ready at the time to delve into some of the grittier and more jarring pieces some of them wrote. I do appreciate the object cards more now that you pointed out how they relate to the authors, but I agree that with the author cards it's more of a one card reading for me, so I would appreciate more accesiblity to their narrative voice, rather than the author's interpretation from the other book, for an oracle reading. I don't know if that makes sense, it's probably just me. I went back and forth with this one for that reason, but your video made me reconsider it and have it on my maybe list. Thank you so much for such and in-depth and thought-out review, as always ♥

Man ...I learn a lot from you. Definitely need to read the 1818 version of Frankenstein. One of my favourite stories. Such tenderness and heartache. Amazon Australia, the Literary Witches oracle is $25.90 and will be released on the 3rd of September. The art is so powerful and the excerpts is such a beautiful connection to the authors. Is the book of the same name? When you spoke of Janet Frame (NZ), I remembered a podcast (can't remember what it was called) that spoke of the history of institutions in New Zealand and who were placed there. There was quite a sinister agenda (govt) in place to put people who were 'undesirable' into this places and these were last operated up to the early 1970s. teara.govt.nz/en/mental-health-services/page-2
