It's very common in Asian culture to call friend/stranger a sister or brother. It's also a term of respect and endearment. Kinda like us Americans calling a friend Bro or Sis but not because of our culture but more like showing a closeness. You sound angry though? WHY does it bother you? Please be respectful of other Countries/peoples culture. We can learn from each other.

@@thorneyrose8803 I'm an Asian myself. & I know v well where the brother or sister words can be used. We don't usually call our love interests as brother or a sister. & I do respect every culture and their norms and values. But thank you for your concern. =)

If she’s saying brother in Chinese how do you want them to translate it? It’s like calling a guy Oppa in Korean. Or Papi in Spanish. It’s just a term for an older male. I don’t think it’s the translations that are the problem.
