Pat Nixon never gets the recognition she deserves. A beautiful lady inside and out. Not shinning the light on herself as so many tend to do.

Thank you so much for uploading this, Pat Nixon is definitely one of our nations greatest women and a tremendous First Lady. Her strong character is very inspiring and more people need to know about her story. Happy Birthday (technically) to Pat Nixon!

Wow Pat Nixon was so different than what I imagined.. for her to drive people across country back at a time we did not have the kind of highway system we had later and we didn't have cell phones , we did not have so many gas stations and service stations and motels and restaurants along the way... that's incredible she really had guts... for some reason I had always assumed she came from money and an easy early life.

@@kbanghart Nixon beat her badly after losing a race in California and she couldn’t leave the house for a few weeks. Even after he resigned they had physical fights in California and the secret service agents had to pull him off of her. He was a big drinker and she was a smoker. I don’t know if he slapped her around in the White House or not. I do think that he loved her very much in his own way.

@JohnDavis-yz9nq
@JohnDavis-yz9nq 2 года назад
@@kbanghart yes a lot of people don’t know about that. Nixon was a heavy drinker in those days. I can understand because he had a lot of problems. Pat was a very outspoken woman and pretty much said what was on her mind. Mix that with alcohol and it is a bad situation. He would beat her up so bad that she couldn’t leave the house for weeks at a time. I have wondered if he slapped her around the White House. I would bet hat he did because he was drinking a lot in the last 2 years of his presidency. I’ll bet the daughters could tell a few stories about the physical abuse that went on in that family. I wonder if he started hitting her early in their marriage or if politics drove him to it. I have had read that is was worse after they moved back to California. It would take 2 secret service agents to get him off of her when they would get into a fight. Pat was such a frail looking woman. I am surprised that he didn’t hurt her worse than he did.
@kbanghart
@kbanghart 2 года назад
@@JohnDavis-yz9nq oh wow, I didn't realize it was that bad. My own father was a functioning alcoholic, actually he wouldn't drink during the day because of his job but sure did after work, it got a lot worse after he was demoted. One huge life goal of his was to climb the ladder as high as he could go, and when that was interrupted it was not good psychologically. He and my mom divorced after about 30 years of marriage, looking back now I'm not surprised at all.

Truely blessed woman. She became a true partner to her husband on the biggest stage and enjoyed the fruits that came with that calling, such as, travel, meeting and rubbing shoulders with heads of state, captains of industry right down to a genuine interest in the men and women of the silent majority. She embodied how a woman is to conduct herself in the public eye with grace and refinement. I find her amazing because she showed everyone what it means to be loyal by standing by her husband thru thick and thin. The best part is for her, that after living a full and honorable life she can meet her God in full confidence
@lindastrouse5035
@lindastrouse5035 3 года назад
Ah, what?? She embodied how a woman is to conduct herself in public and was loyal to her husband?? Did you miss the trial and imprisonment of his cronies who went to jail? Did you miss his resignation on the heels of his impending impeachment? Apparently, Mr. Nixon failed to honor his family with integrity. He dragged them through one if the worst thing a crook can do to his family. I'm not saying she wasn't a good woman, mother wife, but how dare you say we women need to know our place in public.
@davidk7672

@@lindastrouse5035 grow up. You say that as if no other POTUS's were clean as a preachers sheets. Nixon gave everything the Elites ever wanted and yet they got rid of him. He gave them China which made multinationals insanely rich, he took the US off the gold standard which allowed the US to print money like never before. There's a rumour Nixon was after documents that proved the government were involved in the global child trafficking ring, among other things. He sent in his CIA plumbers but they were the fall guys who went down to protect the secret. Nixon wanted that info to kill off impeachment but instead was forced out. My point being he was just a stooge for the worst kind of puppet masters. If you want to take the historical MSM's view of Nixon that's your problem. I choose to see the truth

Yes her biggest problem was Nixon. After losing a political race in California he beat her up so badly that she couldn’t leave the house for a few weeks. After his resignation they had a lot of physical fights in California. Secret service agents were constantly having to pull him off of her. I don’t know if he slapped her around in the White House or not. I am thinking that he probably did because he was drinking very heavily during the last 2 years. I’ll bet the 2 daughters could tell some stories. Mrs. Nixon was liked everywhere she went. People were drawn to her. She was a smoker and he was a drinker. I do believe that he loved her very much. He only lived 20 years after he left Washington.
