I've never heard this before, I love it. Love his voice and the guitar work. My favorite song by them is called "How's It Gonna Be"...it was a big hit in the nineties with some deep lyrics similar in theme to this one.

One of my most favorite songs, I love the built up from the slow intro, to the crashing rock anthem that suddenly drops off a cliff back to a somber pace where the lyrics lead you to believe he ends up drowning himself in the ocean at night. So sorrowful but yet such an energetic song.

I love how people hear things differently. I hear it as he's finally getting sober and getting out of a bad relationship. That peace you find when you get away from the city, the drugs, the relationship, and finally get in touch with yourself in nature.

Imagine that your eating the world's best ice cream, you love it you want it but you also know it won't last. That's basically what this song is about, you love the person your with and they love you but at the same time you know it's going to end. Sometimes relationships are like that you hate it but love it at the same time because you know it's not going to last.

There's a lot to dissect in their first 3 albums (self titled, blue, under the vein). If you like lyrics, songs that put you in moods, melody, insanely unique guitar, and perfect production. there's easily 5 songs on all of those albums that'll end up meaning something to you. Love the amount of attention you give to the lyrics, you're good at this man keep going.

Love this band. Stephen Jenkins and Charlize Theron were an item at one time. Many of his earlier songs were about this relationship and subsequent breakup.

Third eye is a reference to the Hindu based “spiritual eye” that is centered on one’s forehead. Blind is an irony. I’m a long time motorcyclist (currently sidecars...see my avatar). I did my share of motorcycle drive bys.....mostly girlfriends...kinda stalkerish I guess. Nothing crazy or bad. Just youthful and immature...and a reason to ride my bike.

Alternative genre. Their name is actually quite deep. Never heard this, only heard the hits on radio. You think Creep is self-loathing? Unrequited love is a thing. A new band The Warning does a cover of Creep. Actually it is their drummer solo on piano and vocals. Hearing her sing it may give you a fresh perspective on it. Beautiful. Recommend it highly. I really enjoy the effort you put into your reactions and think you have good taste. You're young and still innocent in ways I will never be again but you remind me somewhat of a 16 year old me but more easily expressive. Keep the faith. 👍

Keep up the vids dude. I look forward to watching more. This entire album by third eye blind is a true lyrical treasure. I suggest getting the cd/album however you can and going for a drive to it. Like we all used to do in the 90s.

I love this song. Great job on giving your perspective on this song. The last 4 songs on the album are the best in my opinion. Third Eye Blind’s first album is all about toxic love. It’s my favorite album of all time.

Weird. This is one of my favorite songs on the album, but never heard anyone talk about it. Definitely better than the dreadful "Graduate" which was released as a single. But just a nice melancholy song, reminds me of the girl that got away

SO i'm gonna assume that you're a youngster since your mom introduced you to this band and the fact that you said that you "think" you've heard of semi-charmed life... when i first heard about third eye blind it was 2006 because slow motion was my favorite song. now i'm almost 30. this music is still so good. spread this music around, youngster.

Your mom has great taste! The whole album centers around the toxic relation of 2 drug/alcohol addicts. Super sad cuz at the end of the album, after he's found himself and found peace, he relapses again. It's just, epic.

@@DiconDissectionalReactions Speaking of Coming Attractions, in the 00's, you should check out Elbow, a very interesting combo of singer/songwriter/prog influenced band. Huge in the U.K. I'd start with their first, Asleep at the Back, songs like Red or New Born. Interesting, beautiful lyrics.

I’m kinda persnickety I guess but when I was growing up a non-band get together had at least this much talent but with more entertainment value. I’m spoiled beyond help having lived through the best era of music ever.🎶 Keep learning Daniel don’t pay any attention to this old doo wah Diddy man cuz I’ve heard way too much music to be objective anymore. My library is too full to accept any more mediocrity, gotta save room for the few gems still being made by real artists. It seems Americana is one of the last places to look for genuine expression in song, I’m talking about songs that HAD to be written HAD to be expressed HAD to be purged from the soul, a rare commodity today but it’s all I have time to listen for anymore,..... and watching you to re-live those youthful moments of inspiration. Godspeed Daniel and do what you do. Lol
