But my husband is English, and he lives in the UK, I plan to move to the UK this year and I’d be glad to continue my practice as a paediatritian in England. So I’m practicing my medical English, and preparing for my exams.

I am a Medical Assistant student at a college near Seattle and I relied on your many lectures in Anatomy and Physiology. Also, I just watched your information on Vit.D deficiency and ARI and that was eye opening. Thank you for all you do, Prof. Campbell, to inform the public (i.e. us) about the intricacies of medicine. As well as allergies, hypersensitivity may manifest as autoimmunity. In health, the immune system protects against invading infection by reacting against foreign proteins. The immune system should recognise body tissues as part of the ‘self’, and therefore not attack them. However, in autoimmune disease there is a breakdown in the self/non-self recognition system which results in the immune system attacking the bodies own proteins and tissues. In military terms this would be described as attack from ‘friendly fire’. In autoimmunity the immune system reacts to some of the bodies own tissues as if they were invading infections agents which need to be eliminated. The immune system is making a mistake, and is attacking the very tissues it is supposed to defend. Autoimmune diseases you may come across include diabetes mellitus type 1, Graves’ disease, Addison’s disease, pernicious anaemia, rheumatoid arthritis and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

Cardiology ceased my metoprolol last week, I went to get the D-dimer blood test done today and I see Respiratory Med on the 15th Oct. Hopefully I can cease the rivaroxaban soon too. Every day is a bonus. Loving life.

Nerves crossover maybe evolved due to likely damage of one side (both head and body) which leaves a good half brain to heal a damaged half body, and maybe the other half brain to heal itself. If nerves did not cross then healing would only be done by half the brain

Dr.john can you explain to me the drug interaction in liver disease like antibiotic and analgesics how can I modify the doses to avoid further damage to the liver . My next question is when a pateint is on systemic corticosteroids there are several side effects of this drug in spite of there benefits how can I manage or avoid the rising of these side effects.

I cant speak for anyone else but where I'm located its antibiotic for this antibiotic for that , I'll say to them " but it's a virus aren't the antibiotics harmful and useless for a virus ?" The answer is a bunch of "what if's" and fear mongering.. " better safe than sorry " ... I have question ecg toke FOR patient and on lead III recorded and has no s wave but p,r and t waves are normal. It is mean heart is abnormal or the vector at right angles so ecg doesn't record S wave. how can I know. Please explain that in detail. Thanks
