Hopefully they fixed the electrical issues that still run with the 2018-2019 version in which when you wash the bike and leave the battery connected the fuel pump will cycle whenever it feels like it and it will sit there and fill your cylinder with fuel and then of course you’ll have to change your oil because now you have fuel in it. I have also witnessed a 2017 yz250f that had all the trail shit on it and it has even managed to start itself without anyone around it.

Longer rod on the 450 increases rev and torque in the midrange as I run a long rod in a car engine and makes the engine respond a lot different, for the better.

Have you found any specs on the new 2020 yz250fx?

Please let us know if they fixed the transmission issues for 2020, I have a 19 and blew out 3rd and 4th gear and if the 20 is updated I will upgrade, huge thanks i thought i was the only one with transmission issues

They spend so much money in R&D "updating" these bikes - but they leave the YZ85, YZ125, YZ250 same as 2005. And that is just a damn shame. People still race and ride the 2-strokes too. Update your stuff! You are becoming the laughing stock of the industry for this reason alone. KTM and Husky do update theirs! (and I ride only YZ, so it has nothing to do with anything but Yamaha Motor Corp is being lame and leaving their two-strokes alone with 15-year old technology.) Ryan Villopoto would have likely won last years' Red Bull Straight Rhythm had his ancient (but new) YZ250 been anything newer technology than 2005. Come on, YAMAHA. Give the people what they want! Something still awesome, but at least SLIGHTLY modern! And all these gay fancy apps and bells and whistles on these schmancy $11,000 four-strokes are NOT what the masses want! Traction control? Overly-engineered phone apps? Hell no. Where's the anti-lock brakes and airbags? Coming soon, I'm sure. (Racing is a minuscule amount of the total ridership for people who buy these bikes.) No Debate...

gearbox upgrade what a load of rubbish there going back to the 18 gearbox because the 19 gearbox 5th gear is failing they made the gears to light to cut weight out for the weight they gained by adding the starter motor revising gearbox gears without testing them that is smart , i could not think of a better place to try and save weight the engineers at yamaha are smart people, i know this because i have a 19 model with 14 hours on it and the gearbox is gone they can't supply parts to fix it so they are using 18 gears in a 19 gearbox now that good value for a bike that i paid $11000 for and they told me the are going back to the 18 gearbox. as for the timing chains that have to be replaced at 12 hours now thats reliability. they are a piece of junk
