I am really fortunate to share this beautiful 2021 Mazda CX-5 Signature. I ordered this specific vehicle for local customers, and they were gracious enough to allow me to share it with the channel. This is truly the most beautiful CX-5 available.
The Machine Gray is a perfect match to the Caturra Brown Napa leather and dark accents inside. The upgraded bright finish wheels and accents make this vehicle pop, and we can’t forget about the 2.5 Turbo matched with the all wheel drive. The updated infotainment is almost lost with the other interior upgrades and new features.
Thank you again to the Brandas for their purchase and allowing us to see their beautiful Mazda. I will have more information from them in the next couple of weeks as they have more enjoyment with their Mazda.

Thanks for the helpful information. Question about the side mirrors. Do the memory seat buttons also control the side mirrors? In other words, can they be set together with the seat and assigned to memory.

Wish you could get the red interior on signature. Also wish it had a panoramic sunroof and multicolor led interior accent lighting. It would be perfect at that point.

Awesome! I tend to lean more toward GTR because of choice of interior color. The Nappa leather is very nice though.

So Jon the other thing I’m especially interested in is the lane keep assist function. I’ve heard that Mazda’s LKA doesn’t really do all that much in comparison to some of its competitor brands that actually work very well at steering the vehicle and keeping it inside the lane. Can you do a vid on this feature please and show us what exactly Mazda’s LKA does. Cheers - kevin

I’ll get that done for you. I know that the system was changed in 2019 to be less aggressive in correcting the wheel. I think Mazda changed it to be less intrusive to the driving experience.

is the infotainment system for 2021 CX5 Signature different in Canada? Because I just test drove one and it had the previous gen. screen but they told me the car model is 2021. I'm very confused.

Yes the Canadian vehicles did not get the upgrade.

It’s got sonar??? Lol, that will be useful when I’m hunting submarines in the pacific. I think you meant ultrasonic parking sensors, that’s a bit different. Good to see all the features of this nice vehicle. Mazda interiors have come a long way in the past 10 years.

Yes, I say “sonar” referring to the ultrasonic sensors. They use sound to determine distance or proximity.

Do you know if it is possible to have a digital readout of the current speed on driver's digital display, like it can on the Mazda 3?

Yes I believe it does. The 21 CX5 has the same infotainment underpinnings that the 20 3 got. I just bought a 20 3 and love the digital display (esp speed). My g/f just got a 20 CX5 and it doesn’t have the new infotainment underpinnings so no dice for it...

Yes, with active driving display, GT Premium and higher, you will have the digital speedo read out.

The dealer here in Reno, Nv says they don’t get many Signatures because people don’t buy them! I love the CX5 but worried about the service here. What should I do? Also, they don’t have 2021 inventory!

The Signature is lower volume than other trims, GT and Touring for example. I would go with your gut. Don’t rule them out just from one experience or conversation. Check their reviews and see how others value them. I’m surprised they don’t have any 2021s. They may have sold out their first few vehicles that came in.

Greetings, Is Polymetal Gray an option for exterior color on the Signature? On the fence with the Carbon Edition as it does not include fog lights or ventilated seats, but I love the color! Mazda's site shows no additional options for Carbon Model. Maybe a Signature in Polymetal will do the trick.

Unfortunately there’s only the one interior. It is very nice once you see the rich brown in the leather.

Awesome video Jonathan! Hey, on the front of the CX5, about halfway between the Mazda emblem and the driver side headlight, down on the painted bumper: what is the plastic cap that looks like it could be popped off? It drives me nuts that there isn't one on the passenger side. The rear has it too, but at least the rear is balanced with one on each side. Thanks

I believe that is the tow hook, Johnathan will correct me if I’m wrong but I’m positive that’s what it is.

Yes, when you remove the caps there is threaded area for screwing in tow hook. They are required to be strapped down for overseas travel on the ship. Some larger imports have two on the front for a more balanced tying down.

Are you referring to the seating alone? It is the same as the other models. Just the facing...front,back, and headrest.

The vehicles come preset at 7500 for service intervals. We schedule 5000 mile intervals for our customers so they have better tire health, rotating them every 5,000 miles. You are allowed to run to 7500 for warranty though. That length would be fine if you still change oil around every 6 months.

It depends how far back they are to begin with. I ride with my seats far away from the steering wheel, and have to move them up every time.

I would like to have seen more info about any improvements with the new navigation system. Besides a larger screen, does it load faster and is it visually improved over the previous system that is in my 2019 Signature?

It is a lot faster. I have intended to circle back do a more robust infotainment review for the CX-5. Hi Jon... just something small to consider when you film your vids. If you have a patch of nice green grass around your lot, perhaps consider filming the vehicle against that surface as your vehicle surround and backdrop. It will really set a more attractive contrast and make the vehicle really pop ... the car should always be the visual hero in your vids but the old art director adman in me sees the patchy bitumen surface that the vehicle sits on as a really busy backdrop that is fighting for attention and takes away the visual strength of the vehicle’s shape, lines and colour. Just a suggestion to consider as I know how much huge effort you invest in your vids. Cheers - kevin

Hard to find a straight answer online, and I know there is one online somewhere. How much does the Wi-Fi cost? I read another comment that said $20/mo from Verizon, but there's no way that's right.

It is $20 per month for unlimited data. So what I recommend is to subscribe if you aren’t unlimited on your phone. I would just hotspot my phone if I have unlimited data already.

Is the dynamic backup camera only available on the Signature? Everyone else that I have seen doing reviews of these are saying the camera is not dynamic, but I haven't seen anyone else do a Signature review

Yes it’s just the Signature. The others are static. I think the official feature is only available with the 360 camera option, which is why it’s included on CX-9 Grand Touring.

Yes, you can add remote start with additional fob, or use the included remote start over smartphone through the MyMazda application and Mazda Connected Services.

@@rajeshmurali3932 for the 20 3 and CX30 they threw in 3 years of Mazda connected services for free. My guess is it’ll be the same for the extra Mazda models to which it rolls out for 21. The WiFi is separate from Mazda connected services and after your (few month) trial is up if you wanted to keep the WiFi there is a monthly charge. You don’t need WiFi for the Mazda connected services to work...
