First look and setup Unifi Cloud Gateway Ultra

I replace my Unifi USG with a Cloud Gateway Ultra, and do the network and Wifi Set up.

I was about to get the gateway lite as well, or perhaps even the UDM Pro. And then they released this little fella. I love it so far! I even made a wall mount for it.

How do I do if my AP U6-Pro is previously configured, the SSID name, password, device name, logs, etc. When connecting it to this new router, do I have to configure the AP-Pro from the beginning? thank you

For you with that internet speed the udr may have been better with its built in access point and poe switch. The udr starts to fail at 300- 500mb internet. There are pros snd cons to both devices but both are excellent for their use cases

10-4 thanks for the feed back. I am waiting on my ISP to deliver some equipment and I should bee getting much higher speeds (HOPEFULLY). I also have a couple of out building that I have wired in, so the Ultra was (I think) right up my alley.

@@LoResDIY I think they are all good but udr has built in 4x4 WiFi 6 and 4 port Poe switch which could make it cheaper if it is suitable. It also slows 3 apps like protect but with only 2 cameras . The one you picked is far more scalable

Does this requires to enter our internet credential (user:pass) from our service provider? I'm thinking of replacing my ER-X.

You will need to do some magic to your ISP moden to keep from double NATing, or have them do it for you. In my case I only needed to put the moden in bridge mode and I was off and running.

Yeah, I did this, coming from an USG 3P & CK1 (controller v7.2.97). Just did a backup and restored the backup inside the Cloud Gateway Ultra, and everything was there again and worked. I was a little bit afraid if this would work, but it worked just perfect without any issues.
