Follow along as I update, change, and test my homelab setup. I will also be dabbling in networking, smart home, security cameras. and small electronics. Just trying to have some fun and give back to the homelab community.
After following your instructions I still cannot get the console to work. These instructions only pass the compute capabilities, not the entire GPU. A real test of passing a GPU to a container is to run a 3d accelerated desktop environment (example, install gnome and run glxgears or davinci resolve), which requires also the graphics capabilities of a GPU not just the compute capabilities.
Thank you for this! I had this working at one point but it was fiddly and I had to re-do it. The second go around it was kicking my butt until this video/write up took me through it.
Anyone looking for the qbittorrent password Apps -> qbittorrent -> Workloads (on the right) -> View logs find "The WebUI administrator password was not set. A temporary password is provided for this session: <password>"
How do I do if my AP U6-Pro is previously configured, the SSID name, password, device name, logs, etc. When connecting it to this new router, do I have to configure the AP-Pro from the beginning? thank you
Very helpful and detailed video, thank you! Just wondering, is the raw HDD pass-thru to the VM the only or the recommened option? I am contemplating on creating a RAID-5 pool via the m/b on-board controller and pass that thru to the VM as a disk instead of creating RAIDZ within TrueNAS.
Created the rule to block vLan access to the gateway as you described however the rule did not work. Access is still allowed to the gateway. Any advice?
Scale was a bit different in the UI when I was following this, but I was able to figure out enough to get my first server going. Thanks a bunch for the video, it really helped me get it running the way I needed it to.
Very nice and clear video on how to do this. After two years using a 3 node cluster, I finally decided it just wasn't worth it. Anytime I needed to make changes to the network or had issues with a server, it was such a hassle and took way to long to deal with the as you say "finicky" cluster. My word for ProxMox's clustering is "CRAPPY". ProxMox itself is great and I love it. The way they handle clustering is just total shite! I'm no programmer but it seems like they need to put a LOT of work into how they handle clustering and make things easy and intuitive in the GUI for it. If I want to change the IP of a node, it should be as easy as changing the damn IP and rebooting. If I want to add or remove nodes it should be that simple. If I want to remove a node then re-add it using the same node name and/or IP it should be dirt simple. But none of these things is simple. It's probably much more complex on the backend than I realize and if that's the case, provide a Wizard that walks me through the process and do the things that need to be done behind the scenes! In the end, I just threw in the towel. I can deal with the added headache of moving vms/containers without a cluster. At least I won't be borking my systems any longer.....hopefully. Thanks for the video!!
hi, i've tried your setup, on the vpn provider lxc container, it worked. the ip changed and all. however when i try to use it on another container, via the gateway, it doesn't work. the curl command just not responding to anything.
idk wtf is up with the permissions but if I set the app to use as user 3000 and set the folder permission to my own user and it works. something is weird with the 568 user through truecharts' version
@@v000000000000v Yeah I installed an older version set permissions up as "apps" on the dataset and then ran BitTorrent. Once I ran it I stopped it and then updated and then it seemed to work fine. It seems to be bug in the current version when doing. fresh install.
These go like pancake, had to keep checking the Ubiquiti website everyday until few days ago it came back in stock, ordered one straight away. Went back in about 2 hours to check stock out of curiosity and its out of stock again !
Just started looking at TrueChart apps on my scale system and im trying to add firefox browser but its not connecting to the internet. Could you do a video on setting up the likes of firefox browser please
I’m getting mine soon, because they had a killer price initially with the 40% discounts, but definitely installing True NAS on it. I plan to only use open source software on it, there’s nothing justifying the use of the custom linux kernel on UG OS
Summary: The dataset's owner *has* to be sync (983), owner group has to be 983 and you need to give full permission to 983 on the folder and children. Anything else I've tried, like different owner, but still has permissions, didn't work at all and ended up in errors.
hey man, sorry about this, im Br, but i have a truenas scale version 24.04 and mi pihole in truecharts dont pass to run, stay in Deploying always, you think what doing?
