Kimbers are always aestheically pleasing but not always reliable. Owned 3 in the past, and all 3 were nothing but issues. Hopefully, their QC and CS is much improved these days. Very nice-looking model. 👌
I have a rapide heat, way over sprung. Dropped the spring weight and runs great suppressed. It at the time was the only gun that had all the features i wanted under 3k. It really runs like a champ. Been very lucky with mine.
I've definitely looked into getting a Kimber just to get into a slightly better 1911 and a GI model. This would be something I'd look into getting, but I may potentially save up for a higher end 1911.
i also like Kimbers. have original rapide in 9,10, and 45. all of them have been very reliable. the 45 needed break in. it was the only black one. other was dawn and black ice.
I know they save money sharing frames, but on a “tactical” 1911 I think a square trigger guard looks better.still nice looking,I’ve had a custom II around for long time(I bought for my dad)it’s been a good reliable shooter.
Another great review. I sure do like Kimber guns. I just learned something about suppressors. It might need a heavier spring. Is that the same on 9mm? Thank you for both, Joe.
