First look at Hurricane Florence damage at Atlantic Beach 

This ticks me off. There is a ton of damage all over Carteret county but what do they report on? The sand... Whoopty-freakin-doo!! "Our beaches are normally much prettier than this" No shit Sherlock! On the good days we normally don't get hit by hurricanes!

I know plenty of people about 10 miles from this beach, who's houses have been flooded and torn apart, don't understand why they would make this area such a big deal.

There would not be a catastrophe if people didn’t build where they’re not supposed to build. There will always be a next hurricane that’s why they’re called the barrier islands. Don’t build there
