A first look at the post-first-world-war bi-plane made by Svenska Aero AB - the Bucker Jungmann. Wonderfully modelled in Microsoft Flight Simulator, and a joy to fly. It's reasonably priced in the marketplace, and while not "study" level, is still great fun.

I picked this plane up over the holidays. You've inspired me to get it out again.

Great video. I just picked this beautiful biplane up in the marketplace while it is on sale. A very enjoyable aircraft to fly.

As a spanish bü131 owner. They flew here until the 75. A magnificent aircraft to fly.

My goodness, Jonathan, I never thought you looked as good as you do as the pilot in this plane.

Back in 1990 or 91 I had the opportunity to fly this aircraft around the LFGB airfield in France as a guest. It was very beautiful. (But also very loud)

You make me want to spend so much money on planes! The Lionheart Q200 is another good one btw.

Good video. Taildraggers are a challenge. I thought you did very well. Good presentation of this aircraft. And of course out of Boonville, never tire of it. Enjoy your videos.

Yeah - I discovered Boonville by chance - it's become a favourite quiet place to try GA aircraft out.

I agree the Jungmann is a wonderful plane by Lionheart Creations! I don't fly it too often, but when I do, it always brings a big smile on my face :)

Looks like fun, is it faster than Ant's Tiger Moth? The Moth also has an autopilot but it takes a very long time to get anywhere. The bonus of course is that it ideal for that special scenery spotting being so low and slow.
@jonbeckett
@jonbeckett Год назад
I think it might be a bit quicker.

I've been watching a guy on another channel learn to fly a real tail dragger and for two wheel landings he pushes the stick forward on touchdown. This is because as the tail settles the AOA increases and thats where the 'bounce' comes from. I'd like to see you try it

No thats not a turn coordinator, its a turn and slip indicator or turn indicator. Theres a small but vital difference.

Good afternoon I have this airplane. I have not yet explored it.

It's really good!

It's definitely not German study level: it's missing the umlaut from Bücker. I believe they've even got it spelled wrong on one of the liveries! I shall be buying this to complete the trinity, but not until I've come to terms with the Stearman, which - how shall I put this - I do not love with quite the same intensity that I love my Tiger Moth.
@jonbeckett
@jonbeckett Год назад
Yeah - the Tiger Moth is very, very good. The best thing about the Stearman is the sound.
@davidwitherow900

@@jonbeckett So I took the Stearman up this morning. The problem I had with it before was that it has an incredibly poor throttle response. I seemed to be always accelerating and decelerating but never settling at the airspeed I wanted. Which also made trimming impossible. Once I learned to accept that I had to deal with the poor throttle response, it was a lot more flyable - still no Tiger Moth though. So the Jungmann is going into the purchase queue, right after the An-2, which rumour has finally launching this week. So that makes two aircraft you've sold me. I bought the Big Radials Goose while it was on sale after watching your review. Don't worry, I shall continue to watch your channel despite the risk of bankruptcy.

I bought it as a subtitute for the Tiger Moth until it came out then having bought the Tiger Moth,I was finally able to buy the chipmunk and later its replacement the Scottish Aviation Bulldog which I like the least.............................................

Do you know why the pilot would always sit in the backseat? In these types of planes?
@jonbeckett
@jonbeckett Год назад
I believe it's because most biplanes are designed to be balanced with no passenger. If carrying a passenger, it makes the plane nose-heavy - which is FAR safer than moving the centre of mass behind the centre of lift :)
