I think Dr Z amps are true tone machines. Just a boxes of sound..waiting for a player and a guitar. That Carmen Ghia the good Dr makes is just magical. I will own one soon. Quite affordable for what your getting. A buddy had a head version of the Ghia and the other day..I just couldnt stop playing it. Very inspiring. I own a slightly modded 1977 Traynor YGM3 my dad gave me years ago and It truly is my go to amp but I need a Ghia 1x12 combo and play them together with the stereo outs on my Line 6 DL4 delay box.
SE is 1 output tube driving the output transformer. Parallel SE has 2 output tubes driving the output transformer but not in the more normal Push Pull configuration. SE has more of the even harmonics in it's output. PP tends to cancel the even harmonics.
Hey John you know what I like best about watching you it's your passion you just love all things guitar! As do I! I love your playing I love your enthusiasm you're a fantastic interviewer I love it when you do the Rig Rundown I've learned so much just by watching your stuff on RU-vid man I just wanted to say thank you for all the information that you give to us and all the energy you put out there man!
I had a 54 Les Paul just like yours. At some point the person that owned it prior to me had the gold top taken off and beneath it was this unreal quilted bookmatched maple top! Who would have thought they would have painted over such a gorgeous top you know? What a sweet sounding guitar just like yours.
Dude, I think you got the talk box thing a little wrong. Bob wells, husband of country star Kitty wells gave the first one to Joe, Who later showed it to the legendary Bob Heil. As far as I know Joe still has the original, and Bob Heil made the commercial 'Talk Box'.Oh yeah great sounding amp, been digging them for a while.
I think Jeff Beck got the first one from Wells, in the form of a Talk Box in a shoulder strap bag, like a small bagpipe set with the mouth tube coming out of the bag !!!!
For there to be “dad” blues, there has to be kid blues. We know Millennials are way to lazy to dedicate hours and years to learning an instrument. That is why electronic music is so popular today. Any millennial can sit down at a computer and create a bad song in 5 minutes.
Disgraceful. I'd love to see the expression on Dan Erlewine's face if Joe Walsh PHD strolled into Dan's shop and said he wanted a B-Bender mod on one of his Les Pauls. Ohio natives Walsh, Erlewine, and Dr. Zaite would roll around laughing histerically...........
Screw the Dr. Z amp, Show us the B Bender Les Paul, I ASSuME this is the new way to lighten the guitar without pissing everyone off.. Also have Santa bring you a 5-8 guitar stand.. Also nice 54 Gold Top & PRS + B bender tele clone. Not interested in the amp one bit, Does Dr. Zed work for Hartley Peavey in China?
