Company members from the national tour of Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Boublil & Schönberg’s Les Misérables perform some of the musical's most iconic songs.
Saw this last month in South Bend on closing night. We had the understudy for ValJean, Christopher Viljoen, (here in the middle with Gavroche on his shoulders). What a voice! At first I was disappointed not to see Nick Cartell, but as a vocal teacher, I was so impressed with Christopher's voice! I've seen 2 other touring casts of Les Mis over the past 25 years. I own the dvd of the 10th anniversary concert and the 25th, and have to say other than Ramin Karimloo's Valjean, I have always found Bring Him Home as usually sung in mostly falsetto to be underwhelming. Christopher's version gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. I never get tired of this show, it moves me every time and this cast was very very good.
Just saw this cast perform in Vancouver on Sunday and I am still living in the after glow. So many talented people in one cast. I would love to purchase an album of them singing all the songs.
I was lucky enough to have seen this cast twice! Once almost two years ago and another time two months ago. The second time, I got a backstage tour and met Matt Shingledecker (one of my celebrity crushes)! He's so sweet!
Just saw this in San Diego and it was absolutely FABULOUS!!!!!!! All of the actors were amazing! We had some police activity that morning in San Diego which postponed our 1pm show to 1:45pm. With the exception of seeing all the activity outside, you would not have known anything happened inside. The theatre staff, the orchestra, the cast, all were not affected! The show was spot on and even better than I had hoped it would be! This was a dream of mine, to see Les Miz in person, and it definitely did not disappoint!!
Late to the party. But is it wrong that I'd love to see a version of Les Miz that's modernized in set and costuming. (not sure why, but their rehearsal clothes actually kinda worked for me).
