What a wonderful Bible. I’m tempted to get one of these, I’ve mainly been reading the LSB ICR. But this seems less thick and bulky and easier to tote around. If 316 ever comes out with a handy size ICR or outside reference like this that would be my idea of a perfect usable in ever situation Bible.

Greetings in Christ, Brother Scott! I became a Christian in the Canadian Army in 1986! Man. do I feel old saying that! Ha ha...I did the Navigator's program every day with one of Canada's top soldiers, a Paratrooper/Commando in charge of Battle School. We used the NIV because it was the "in" Bible to use at the time. I switched to the NASB after taking Koine Greek in Bible college and at Taylor University in Fort Wayne, Ind. I got a Lockman Hebrew Greek Key Study Bible by Dr Spiros Zodhiates which has been my everything Bible for over 30 years! Praise God for His enduring word. Isa 40.8...I believe you may have shown me my next Bible. Soli Deo Gloria!

I received this for Christmas and overall I am pleased. It is a lot thinner than I anticipated. Thinner than my 2017 printing, and way thinner than my LSB ICR. One feature I was really surprised was that each book starts on a separate page which I really like. I only have 2 cons. 1. A few of my pages were wrinkled and obviously fixed. 2. The family record pages are on glossy card stock which worries me that it will smear. Like you stated, I won’t write in this one and will purchase either a genuine leather edition to write in, or a large print wide margin from Steadfast.

It’s slender physique is a huge selling point. It really is surprising how good the opacity is for such a-dare we say (?)-Thinline SCR.

@@msctshrly I feel the same way. I was studying this morning and was comparing my LSB ICR with the new SCR and the opacity is on par with the LSB ICR. Yet, the new SCR is far more portable. You are correct it could be qualified as a thin line SCR. Lockman hit a home run with this edition.

Lockman printed the inferior 2013 SCRs a decade ago. It has been a long time coming.

Many of us prefer the old SCR format. Wish they'd released the old SCR with better/thicker paper, goatskin and NOT printed in China!!!!!

I just ordered the $47 NASB '95 side-column reference in black leathertex. I can't really afford the $210 Prime. I hope I am pleased with the black leathertex. I don't really like the blind stamping on the spine of the leathertex but overall I hope I am pleased with the cheaper version of this anticipated Bible . I am going to do a review of this leathertex version and the use this Bible. Blessings to you brother.

Love this. I actually have a copy of the Prime SCR 95 coming in the mail. It's a near perfect type setting and layout in general. However, I think if they took into consideration the binding process and how the final product would affect the page layout. They should have shifted the text on the page over to the right about 1/4 inch and it would have solved the verse numbers leaning toward the gutter problem. All in all this Bible seems to be the nearest to perfection.

Yes, Lockman needs to do what Zondervan did and print the 2nd printing with more space in the gutter.

Hello. Would you recommend this Bible or the Steadfast large print wide margin? All around readability and quality. I know one has references and the other doesnt. Im not overly concerned with that. Thank you very much for all your reviews!

The Steadfast LPWM has a slight edge on readability and quality. Yet, I prefer the SCR for its softer goatskin and it’s surprising thinness. If you write in these, then the LPWM has a major advantage. If you prefer references, then the SCR has a major advantage.

how about this one vs the NASB95 PREMIER COLLECTION single column reference Bible if you write and highlight in them are they almost the same? Despite 36 GSM VS 32 GSM paper.

I honestly don't have an answer for you here because I don't write or highlight in most of my Bibles. However, The ZSCR has much more room for taking notes, especially the 1st print.

Between the NASB 2020, NASB95 and LSB, which translation would you lean towards recommending?

It depends on the audience. I preach from the 1995 and the LSB, but I read the 2020 to my kids every night.

I was able to preach out of this one with no problem on Sunday and Wednesday, but I did suggest that they move the text out of the gutter a little bit to get the scripture on the flatter portion of the page. Part of the issue may be the tightness of the edge-lined construction, which should relax with use. The paste down editions may open wider than the Primes.
