Was excited that Lockman produced this bible layout with the 95 text. I purchased this when it was first released to serve as my main bible for personal reading. It looks and reads like a regular book without the distraction of cross references or footnotes. It is not for bible study but it’s excellent for just sitting down and letting God speak to you through his word. Thanks for your review!
Hello. Would you recommend this Bible or the Steadfast large print wide margin? All around readability and quality. I know one has references and the other doesnt. Im not overly concerned with that. Thank you very much for all your reviews!
The Steadfast LPWM has a slight edge on readability and quality. Yet, I prefer the SCR for its softer goatskin and it’s surprising thinness. If you write in these, then the LPWM has a major advantage. If you prefer references, then the SCR has a major advantage.
If a person doesn’t interpret Scripture as John MacArthur why would they then choose his study Bible with his notes? You are literally purchasing his opinions.
I have this bible in the NIV. I love everything except the gold color used for book/chapter info on the top corner of the page and page number at the bottom. Like you pointed out they wash out in most lighting conditions. The dark blue print is amazingly clear and easy to read. This is a great feeling and reading bible!
Just found your site, while researching Zonderbuff Parsaggios😂, and I’m loving your reviews. I have recently bought both the NIV Larger Print Compact and the NIV Heritage Passaggio in Zonderbuff blue. They’re both wonderful bibles that work perfectly for me. I’ve never seen a blue buffalo and I hope we never run out of them! God bless!!!
The modern Bible versions like the LSB say the opposite of the KJV in certain verses. For example, the KJV calls those who worshipped idols “superstitious,” whereas the LSB calls idol worshippers “religious.” “Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.” (Acts 17:22 KJV) “So Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very religious in all respects.” (Acts 17:22 LSB) The Zionist disciples of Satan were able to change their Bibles to make Israel a "spreading vine" in the NIV and even a "luxuriant vine" in the NASB, ESV, and the LSB in Hosea 10:1. God, however, states that "Israel is an empty vine" in his KJV Holy Bible at Hosea 10:1. “Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself: according to the multitude of his fruit he hath increased the altars; according to the goodness of his land they have made goodly images.” (Hosea 10:1 KJV) “Israel is a luxuriant vine; He produces fruit for himself. The more abundant his fruit, The more altars he abounded; The better his land, The better he made the sacred pillars.” Hosea 10:1 LSB) So we know from that issue that the KJV is God’s word or the modern Bible versions are God’s word. They cannot say the opposite of one another and both be God’s word. This is a foundational issue. This is a major issue. There is no middle ground here. "Choose ye this day whom ye will serve." Joshua 24:15. Edward Hendrie Author of "HOAX of Biblical Proportions"
If there is a difference in the translations between the King James Version and the Legacy Standard Bible, then you should stick with the Legacy Standard Bible because it’s more faithful to the original manuscripts. The King James Version has many places where additional material was added to the Bible.
Bible ribbons are terrible. I just bought a premium Nelson Bible. And the ribbons are thick, and a pain. And im not far from chopping them off and using receipts as bookmarks. Cause its just too much trouble. Bible ribbons. Need to be aligned like the pages are. With a 90 degree bend sewn in by the attach point, so they fall in the pages correctly with no fiddling. And there would be no risk of damage either. If its one thing I dislike. Its when something is engineered badly, and requires fiddling. You would think with a 150-200 dollar bible. They could do better.
My NASB Large Print Compact Bible, Blue, Leathertex, 1995 text will be here Monday. I was super excited to see that the fixed the type setting this video made me go buy it lol
Great review Scott! Just a couple of questions: Is it true that the Preacher's Bible has shiny paper? If so, that must be dreadful--cheap looking and cheap to feel. Would you agree? By contrast, would you say the Steadfast Preacher's bible has better paper? And what font size does it have? Thanks!
Greetings in Christ, Brother Scott! I became a Christian in the Canadian Army in 1986! Man. do I feel old saying that! Ha ha...I did the Navigator's program every day with one of Canada's top soldiers, a Paratrooper/Commando in charge of Battle School. We used the NIV because it was the "in" Bible to use at the time. I switched to the NASB after taking Koine Greek in Bible college and at Taylor University in Fort Wayne, Ind. I got a Lockman Hebrew Greek Key Study Bible by Dr Spiros Zodhiates which has been my everything Bible for over 30 years! Praise God for His enduring word. Isa 40.8...I believe you may have shown me my next Bible. Soli Deo Gloria!
@@msctshrly you don't have to go to any trouble of doing that on the account of me. Do you like it? I love smaller bibles. The selection on premium compact NASB 95 is lacking. PSQ and Steadfast I think that's it. I have a pitt minion and love it but man that text is small. I have a Clarion as well. That boy is thick too. My dream bible would probably be an Allan ruby NASB. I don't think they make that one though. Anyway just would like to hear your thoughts on the steadfast large print compact.
Not sure if this is verse format, but it is the Handcrafted Single Column. Estimated availability is Aug 15th, 2024. www.lifeway.com/en/product/nasb-single-column-personal-size-bible-holman-handcrafted-edition-black-premium-goatskin-P005848522?fbclid=IwAR3BvloMlKJYRSmV3vBp-XNBqAy3PuNkUe1x7IshfD7lawntov4wUZ_Wy8k_aem_AfuInYABJgFzi-6RCi99KIy_gfQrY2j88qHnzBICW-dIb1qKwdGDR8unplL9UiBNkVg
I just purchased one from Christianbook for $54.99 (2/5/24). This is definitely different from any other bible I currently own. My preference in bible layouts vary, I actually like the uniqueness in this bible.
Each edition comes with its own variety. www.christianbook.com/apps/easyfind?Ntt=Holman+NASB+reference+bible&Ne=0&N=0&Ntk=keywords&action=Search&ps_exit=RETURN%7Clegacy&ps_domain=www&event=ESRCG
Great review sir! I have/had the same edge-lined tabs keeping the block tight issue with the Thomas Nelson NKJV Maclaren Compact in genuine leather as well. Maybe that's why Cambridge didn't edge line the Pitt Minions?
how about this one vs the NASB95 PREMIER COLLECTION single column reference Bible if you write and highlight in them are they almost the same? Despite 36 GSM VS 32 GSM paper.
I honestly don't have an answer for you here because I don't write or highlight in most of my Bibles. However, The ZSCR has much more room for taking notes, especially the 1st print.
I found out several years ago in a band that L.C.D. readouts.. on a keyboard are worthless in the sunlight as well.. what a waste of money THAT keyboard was.... just sayin'
when having to use a bible outside... use one without white pages .. . maybe an off white.. or aged pages that have shown age discoloration and have already become dulled... these work the best.. outside..
I have a solution for glare .... don't look at the page under sunlight.. sun rays are bad for inks anyway.. over a period of time they cause fading.. and discoloration... keep your shades closed..
this review would have been better when pointing out specific things on this bible if some sort of POINTER was used... such as in regards to the 4 part binding.. or the separation in the binding... take a pointer and state "right here"... "right here"... "right here" and "right here"... and a pointer would have been REALLY helpful in showing what you were trying to show as far as the glare on the pages from sunlight.. Where is the green text?... it all looks black in your video... Please use some kind of pointer... a blade of a pair of scissors.. or a pencil eraser tip at the end of a pencil.. or an un extended ball point pen tip.. to point exactly to what the viewer is supposed to be eyeing... thank you...
