The aerodynamics come into play if the speed is over 100 most of the time look at any metro most of them are boxy, look at the Japanese metro for comparison. But as they are saying the speed limit for meerut metro is up there so that's why this design, thats my hypothesis.

You don't need aerodynamic design in metros, metros have to stop at every 1-2 km, they don't even reach that much speed and every country has mostly flat faced metros only

@@cryo4662 so where did u study ?? is there any physics law that says aerodynamics come to play only after 100??? look at some demu train used in bangalore which is way aerodynamic than 90% of trains in india -- look at mainline mmts trains made in west bengal factory they are 100% flat with 0 % aerodynamic nose

@@swastikturan257Because the West Bengal government was not ready to fund the Metro. You should thank Indian Railways and Central Government otherwise you people will have to travel on bullock cart. Even the poor state gov of bihar is funding and constructing the new metro system in Patna on the otherhand West Bengal 🤡🤡🤡🤡.

Will these trains only ever be made of 3 coaches, or do metro platforms have provision for more? Meerut looks like a relatively big and growing city, so I wonder if 3 will be enough forever. (I'm a foreigner following the news about Indian metros)

All new Indian metros have provision for extention of Platform station from the both ends to accommodate upto 8 coaches. Meerut Metro stations currently made to accommodate 4 coaches metro & can be extended upto 8 coaches. This meerut metro is using same track & station with RRTS system(Delhi-Meerut) which have 6/8 coaches.

@@durgeshn8791 I see, thank you for clarifying. Are there any exceptions to this? I remember the Rapid Metro in Gurugram or the Kochi Metro being thus far only being able to accommodate 3 car trains?

@@transportspotterraphael yeh, I don't see extended pillars in both of these metros (which means stations can't be extended in future) but Currently there is enough space to accommodate 5 coaches trainsets in both of these metro (You can see in pic/videos) As you see Agra, Kanpur etc new metro system have extended pillars for future upgradation.

@@durgeshn8791 Oh that is interesting, I actually never noticed that. I always thought of platforms as more permanent structures, with some exceptions, I don't usually see them ever being extended, let alone plan to have them extended...I will need to take a look. Do you think you have any examples where I can clearly see them on videos or images?

@@transportspotterraphaelDelhi Metro Yellow line is the example of platform Extension. Which increased length of metro from 6 coaches to 8 coaches by Extension of platforms.

Dude even Mumbai,Delhi and other metros looks the same. Only airport express metro of Delhi looks modern others are just a normal looking metros. Only this merut metro is looking advanced.

@@pratikbhandare3497 Not at all, all the latest metros in the India city look much more modern than Kolkata's, for example Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Pune, Mumbai metro and Delhi metro latest Magenta Line .

@@pratikbhandare3497Have you been to Delhi ever and rode on all the lines? If yes then you miss to mention that there is no station in the present North South line of our Kolkata metro has even Toilets except the one added later. While of DMRC the rakes are superb. The stations are swanky. Facilities are top notch. Did you see the Tollygunge station?...even the fan doesn't run...the station looks like an old man staggering to walk.
