I just don't get the non locking bolt as a deal breaker. I've used 700 action for years, and it's second nature to check the bolt. I just bought the redline in 308. I'm happy as a tick on a dog's ear. Shoots great and just became my favorite rifle.

@@randallwhite9015 The issue with a non-locking bolt is that when you're carrying it out in the field, say on a sling, it can find its way open and drop the round on the ground when you're walking. Has happened to me several times with my Ruger American Rimfire.

Yes cause seeing it being shot changes anything... spoiler alert it shoots in video just the same as any other gun...

I never understood this logic. It only happens in the gun community. You never hear someone say, "Ha, you bought a Lamborghini? I could have bought 100 Honda Civics for that and gas for a year!" I understand not liking Springfield for the crap they pulled, but comparing this to $200 budget rifles is beyond moronic. Hell, at least a Civic is a decent vehicle. A $200 bolt gun is more like a rusty unicycle with a flat tire.

Well Theodore my guess is you don’t have many neighbors that own a Lamborghini. Though lately I have seen quite a few Maserati around in fact someone drove one to a competition shoot in Ohio recently. Never saw what they we’re shooting maybe a glock! Yes I’m being facetious. However the cost of this rifle for what it is doesn’t command the price tag. There is nothing custom about it in fact it’s piece milled together with parts from other manufacturers. I’m just stating the obvious you can get several budget rifles in different calibers than over pay for this. Oh and as a side note never would I buy a civic ever. Even though it’s more American than the big three now.

@@umami0247 I don't think you know WTF your talking about. Here's a breakdown of this rifle's parts as you can see Springfield is giving a hell of a deal on these. AG stock $850 Bottom metal $150 TriggerTech $150 BSF carbon fiber barrel $650 SA brake $50 That's $1950 before the blueprinted action they're providing the cheapest you can get a custom action for is about $800 and then add a couple hundred in gunsmith fees to put all those parts together. Just because it's not a cheap rifle doesn't mean it doesn't deliver alot for the money.

But if you are one that thinks spending more than what’s need or it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy because you just wasted 1500 again feel free. I’ll spend the extra money on ammo.

Most Remington 700 footprint actions have the same bolt release.

I am a huge Bergara fan, but this shaves off 2 lbs. I would say this is compatible with an HMR pro - similar price.

9 lbs is very generous considering the fact most high end rifles weigh 15-20 lbs.
