Bought this back in late 2017 and this is perfect for Someone wanting 5.1 Surround Sound without costing Arm and Leg. Also supports passthough for 4K and HDR. You will need to have some nice speakers to take advantage of quality of AV Receiver..

@@tulaconalas Finalmente compré el Onkyo TX-NR585, solo tenía 3 reseñas, 2 malas y 1 buena, pero me arriesgué por ser el 7.1 más barato. Un año después de usarlo, todavía funciona perfecto y ya tiene 293 reviews, la mayoría buenas.

Im surprised by all the negative comments. I've owned a bunch of Onkyo audio components throughout my life. So when I saw this receiver at a store on sale (couple months ago), I thought I would give it a shot. I needed a new unit for my living room hifi anyway and I don't need a $1,000 receiver to get the job done. Honestly, it's been perfect. It has clean and clear audio and I found no noticeable video loss. All inputs and outputs work correctly. No problems at all. My only gripe is that it lacks a little in the bass department but I don't have a sub hooked up right now. Using the auto calibrate work great too. It detected no subwoofer as it should. So I know everything is set correctly. Other than that (which is not really a problem), it performs exactly like I thought it would and I'm really glad I bought it. Also, lately I've been using it in 2channel mode and that sounds great too.

yeap it has some bass 'issues' but add subwoofer and it resolves situation nicely. I don't know if it's just subjective 'feeling' but it looks like to me that all speakers have better bass when receiver is setup as SUBWOOFER : YES, even when subwoofer is turned off

Oh no was looking at this were I don't need more then the 5.1 setup. Sounds like I should stay away.

My subwoofer does not have rca connection just a red and black wires. It is a passive subwoofer. It came from my 5.1 HT that i purchased 3 years ago. How would I connect this to Onkyo sr 373?

Hi, you will need a separate amp to connect between the TX-SR373 and the passive sub. Unfortunately, we recommend any specific 3rd party products, but you could search for "passive subwoofer amplifier" or consult your local hifi/electronics store.

I have a Sony 900E tv with a Onkyo TX-SR373 receiver that's supposed to be 4K pass-through and I still can't get it to work. My HDMI is plugged into one of my 2 HDR inputs on my tv so I have no idea why it's not working. I would really appreciate anyone's help, please. Thanks.

No matter how many times this issue has been discussed people still bring it up as if in 2018 they still have this issue. It is like expecting the Note 8 to explode just because a few note 7s had issues.
