Just a Fan from India ,ust a Observation Gareth , for spin bowling you stepout/advance way early so the bowler bowls a shorter ball into making you hit front into the hands of a fielder, But when you stand back in teh crease you need a full length to hit a boundary or a clean shot which comes rarely , So my recomendation would be as a Cricket player myself , reach for the ball just beyond teh full length with confident stroke and wait for short ball on back foot , you make short balls harder by advancing and making it a dot ball, Overall whip your bat for spin at the last moment and reach out to play teh ball in gaps, Isee your videos from 2 years , Great vids!!

Great show this week - wonderful venue to set it all off. Thanks for posting. I reckon the local kids could turn a profit searching for and then selling "barely used" cricket balls back to the club.

Good match, lovely camera! Also, what a wonderful ground to play at. Down here in Norfolk, we've had horribly slow wickets so far, too much rain. Hope the sun gets out over the next few months, like the ball coming on to the bat (when it doesn't hit the stumps which is all too often in my case!). :)

Ahh, I love Earlstoke, one of my favourite grounds! Scored a 50 the last time I played there, such a beautiful place. The Dorgan brothers are legends in Wiltshire cricket, well played and welcome to Wiltshire.

Holy crap, I had no idea you'd moved right into the league I used to be involved in! It looks like you're playing Corsham a couple of times this season, I'll try and pop along and say hello! You'll love the ground, it's a batter's paradise (although space for your camera will be limited!) EDIT: Just finished the video and it's crazy to see people I've not seen for so long, I used to play against the Dorgan brothers from Erlestoke in youth cricket and knew Lauren from when her sister played for Bath (before moving on to her international career!).

Gareth, want to ask as a SAFFA, I notice generally across various channels, second teams arent that strong that side or is it based on the division they playing? We of similar age, so maybe its the times of change but notice the difference drastically. Also, one thing about your sweeping which looking at the lengths you were hitting off, before over committing to it, dont forget the delicate option. Its as valuable as a hard sweep. Good luck

Interestingly, here in Aus, it's now compulsory to bat and keep-up with a helmet on (for community cricket level).

Great start to the season but as said before in other videos, your running between the wickets isn’t the best. I know you run yourself out but at the same time think if other people are as quick as you or if the risk is actually worth throwing your wicket away. Good luck for the season!
