In today Vlog I just harvested my first tray of worm castings from the bottom tray of the worm farm.
I could have sworn they were ready to go. The castings had that smooth shiny surface and the top layer was permeable like putty, but as I dug in I noticed that the castings still were not done.
The material still felt grainy in my hands. I think if I had gloves on I wouldn't have felt that it wasn't done.
I decided to put it back into the farm and let the compost worms finish it off.
My guess it still has a good two to three weeks to go!
Good lesson learned today, just because it looks ready doesn't always mean it is.
