Seems like it's coming along! I don't have the money to buy one yet, but i am setting up a local makerspace. Hope to use this for 3D Printfarms, and recycling sorting!
Also look into "ODrive" It is Open Source (the most recent version may have gone closed source). It uses a board, rotary encoders, and "Hobby BLDC Motors" to make servo motors. (Other motors could probably be used as well)
I am not good at coding, but i was also plotting a plugin/template in KiCAD for single motor-encoder odrive "modules" for custom pcb's such as one for this robot. Solely conceptual, but if we can rally people to develop it, it may be of use.
